You can't be charged with a crime for commiting suicide obviously. You can however in some states be charged with attempting to do it. Here in Vegas if you attempt it, or make a credible threat we fill out a form that commits you to a hospital for a maximum of 48 hours so you can be evaluated by a phych doctor. Who in turn will release you so you can try again.
