Seems odd. Countess Markievicz didn't stop shooting in the Easter Rising here in Ireland until she had to throw her gun at the enemy for want of bullets. Joan of Arc kicked some major ass too. And personally I think Margaret Thatcher could have given Hitler a run for his money.

Women's health issues and possible brutalization at the hands of the enemy if captured seem like logical reasons to spare women the realities of front line combat. Also, a man's natural instinct would be to protect a woman and that might screw up the squad dynamics.

Sure every gay soldier doesn’t look around and think about boning the guy next to them. Most straight guys look around and at one time or another (at least weekly, perhaps daily) think about a female coworker that way. The chat around the water cooler is proof. In light of that, you can’t tell me that the thought process isn’t going on in a gay man. Second-class citizens? In the US you can screw around with anyone you want as much as you want as long as they’re over 18. We downright celebrate “alternative lifestyles” in western society and nobody is arresting gay folks or shutting down gay bars. Don’t give me this infringing on people’s liberty and happiness bs. I support the right for anyone to have their sex the way they like it. Just don’t require me to endorse it and don’t be having it with kids.

I see what you're getting at, but it kinda bypasses my point. Would I have killed Hitler, sure, but I cannot logically think of a reason why anyone would end the life of another person. The amount of ignorance that you have to posses to think to yourself, I don't like him/her/them, therefore, they should die is unfathomable to me...
Of course in a perfect world, ideally, there would be no killing.
This is no perfect world. Condition is everything, for instance, in the case of a soldier - better him than me right? I mean, that's a natural reaction, no one wants to die. (unless they believe there are 72 virgins on the other side.. morons).
