My biggest problem is that being jewish comes before anything else. You're jewish first and american second. Israel is not a country but a jewish state. Their religion, ethnicity, culture, nationality is all wrapped up into one concept called judaism and it comes before anything in terms of their identity. This is not always the case. I went to the Sydney Jewish Museum again, and I can say that I doubt another Holocaust will happen again in the forseeable long future. Two centuries, a millenia, maybe (if current destabilising process keep up), but in the 21st? I doubt it.

It's only recently that people started using holocaust to describe "The Final Solution to the Jewish Question".
Oh, and as previously stated, the Jewish people of Israel and the USA (the Zionist movement really...) need to stop letting the events of WW2 define them so heavily. None of the other major Jewish populations of the world seem to bring it up as often or as vocally as those two particular communities. Perhaps Serge can help me here as he's from Argentina (something like the 5th largest Jewish community on earth...) but the use of the Nazi genocide of the European Jewry seems to only be used as a zionist political tool. All other sections of the Jewish communities of the world seem content to remember in sadness and move on with their lives.
