Deathadder is better

No seriously, it's what you prefer - a heavy but free mouse or a lighter but wired mouse. If you tend to be on the unlucky side in gaming, your battery will probably run out while you're playing, so I always prefer a wired mouse, also the surface of the G5 seems not as glitchy as the one of the G7.

Not true.
The natural contours of your hand will be much more comfortable on a G5/7 than on a Copperhead. Why? Because it is slighlty bigger and allows your hand to rest naturally on the mouse. Unlike the copperhead.
The G5/7 have better resolution, nicer design and better padding.

I like my G5, the adjustable weight is nice + the modifyable dpi.. along with 1-3 buttons to modify, its pretty much all you need for gaming, graphics and most other things.. you dont need heigher dpi's than the 2K it puts out.. when I'm at my max setting I'm only running 1350, and I think that is too fast sometimes..

Exactly. From what i've seen with wireless keyboards/mouses, they barely work good for normal computer use.

omfg yeah it turned out to be a razer vs. logitech battle. Well, to be honest, the best sensor is the infrared sensor of the DeathAdder is the top sensor among gaming mice. Lasers are ftl in general.

Wireless devices do not suck for gaming. Anyone who says otherwise is a fucking paranoid and should be wearing tin-foil hats and waiting for "them" to come.

They work fine for every day use and gaming. There is obviously a lag time because of the transmission, but it is so negligible you won't notice it at all. If you buy one from a decent company (Logitech, Microsoft) they'll work fine.

I have a G7, it's very nice. It turned one year old last Christmas, we had a small birthday party for it. I've never had any lag issues with it, and the battery switching mechanism is very quick and easy. If you're a 'serious gamer', just swap in a fresh battery before a match. Otherwise just learn to realize that these are video games, not life-or-death situations.

edit: Between G5 and G7 it's just personal preference. Do you not mind wires, or do you like having as few cables as possible? I personally think that the G7 is only half-wireless; it still has a wire from the receiver to the computer. When they start making everything on USB dongles rather than big giant receivers that still have wires, then I'll call them true wireless =p

Totally agree with you. I have a G7 too. The batteries really do last for a long time. The reason why I got the G7 was because of how many cords I have around the back of my computer and I prefer a mouse that has the least amount of cords. Like Hurricane said, it all comes down to how you like your mice, either way you look at it, the G5/G7 are both good mice despite what other people say.

Edit: Wait... can't you use the G7 with the big receiver or the little USB dongle. I just noticed that on my receiver that you can remove the USB thingy.

Yeah, the hugeass reciever is just for charging your battery packs. You can plug in the dongle to a regular USB and it'll work fine, but you won't have fresh battery packs at your fingertips.

The MX518 is better than both. If you go Razer, get a DeathAdder.
