i'd say a 420w psu won't be enough to power those 2 8800 gts's and an E6700 mate, other than that nice rig, though it seems expensive for £1100

yes all 8.... graphicscards support direct x 10 seeing as that was the main feature and point of these cards, i have the black version of that xion 3 case and it works a treat it has 2 12cm fans (1 in front of the HDD's and one on the back) and a 8cm fan on the side window.

if i were you i'd spend a bit of extra money on a 640mb 8800GTS which is what i did.

and you don't need 2 of those graphics cards just get 1 640mb one and you'll be set for several years.

you could get that pc for about £600-£800 i'd guess if you built it yourself depending on where you bought the parts from and its worth building it yourself just for that saving and more importantly you know how to fix and replace parts and it gives you alot more experience in pc's by doing so.

EDIT: you'll need a much bigger psu for that lot mate,  i'm using a 550watt for one 8800 to put it in perspective which would probably do you fine though i might be tempted to get a 600watt with that budget

Thats about £875 when you buy it all seperately. Thats a pretty big rip off.

I'd drop the E6700 CPU down to the E6600, since, the performance decrease is so minimal you wouldnt notice (0.27 of a GHZ ), yet the price difference in the UK atleast is like £50........

Nor would I bother with an SLI GTS set up, save the cash and buy either the 640MB GTS or, get one single GTX (I think a single GTS is cheaper than two GTS's anyway) and you will be MORE than well looked after.  If you do that though, you will need a good PSU, and with 8800 series cards, I wouldnt really want to chance it with anything less than 600W from either seasonic or enermax.  I notice it says it's the power supply that comes with the case, in which case I strongly suggest you buy one from the makes I mentioned.

Wouldnt bother with vista either, will certainly hinder your gaming experience for a while till SP1 is out.

I would agree with the other guys you should really build it yourself, but unlike the other guys, they didnt give an alternative pre built.

A lil bit more expensive, but a better machine, and not that much of a rip off in comparison to what you had up.

Actually a 6420 is a better buy. It has same specs except lower ghz rating and its much cheaper.

If you look up the stats, a single GTX will outperform two GTS's in SLI. So I agree with what he said.

Also you answered your own question in the first post - if you built it yourself, did some research, looked around, you could find cheaper/better/more. What you are getting isn't really worth what you are paying. Personally if your going to buy a e6700, you may as well overclock it and get your moneys worth...

And yes, get a good PSU, enermax, antec etc. if you go dutch on this you may have a multitude of problems such as: motherboard won't boot, or POSTS and then crashes. PSU runs too hot and dies in 3 weeks. Not enough power for two video cards. Bad voltage rails and fluctuations under load = crashy crashy while playing games. No ability to overclock, and seeing as your buying 8800's and an e6700 if you're not overclocking you are ripping yourself off. You can overclock up to 60% on the core 2 duos, and eventually if you replace the stock coolers on your 8800's you can probably get 35% more out of them too...while maintaining the same temps you get with the stock coolers.

Finally, make sure your case has good cooling or you will have problems with longevity/stability. If your running at default clocks you should be ok, but anything more will require more thought.

Good luck. Don't buy what you listed unless you really don't care about your money!

lol from a cart tab to see how much.

The problom im having is im a very BIG noob on custom PC's but i have about £1000 to £1200 to spend and i didnt want to buy the compontents and end up going wrong with no clues what im reallying doing.
As for overclocking i love the idea but i wouldnt know where to start.

Do you think it might just be worth printing out a high end PC looking at how much i can get the bits for and taking down my custom pc shop and asking them how much to put it together for?

check out aria dot co dot uk.

They will build you a sweet PC for that much money.  They charge 30 quid for putting it all together and installing windows and all of your main drivers.

If I were you I would buy a cheaper graphics card for now, something like an 8600 and wait for some better DX10 cards to come out.  8800's are months old now.   A complete waste of money IMO.  Hold on to a few hundred quid and get yourself a new card nearer winter.
