  • HELP! Monitor loses connection at Windows startup screen

My monitor loses its connection after the windows load screen. I can see the bios load and all that then it goes to the Windows startup screen and I watch the bar load with the windows logo then as soon as it's done, my monitor loses its connection but I still here the loading sounds so I know it's not my computer.

The weird thing is, I've used this monitor for a couple years now and it's worked fine but I unplugged it to try a different monitor (doesn't work but for another reason) and I tried plugging it back in but it doesn't go past the Windows startup screen. I did nothing different except unlplug it and replug it in.

I tried resetting the BIOS, and resitting the video card but it hasn't helped. I think it has something to do with windows

Karma for ANY help!
PS incase you were wondering, I'm on my laptop right now.

it's your computer

Lol, do you have integrated video AND a video card? Its either a broken monitor, or conflicting software, or a broken graphics card, or something else, most likely conflicting software

Can you verify that Windows actually loads?

If you tried another monitor on there that supports a higher resolution than your old one and you switched to that, when you plug the smaller monitor back it it will just go black after bios, you need to plug the larger monitor back in start windows then set the resolution to the lowest one you can then plug your old one back in, that should sort it out.

Check the connection at the rear of the monitor.
