Ok, first off, I'm on a very tight ass budget so dont be tellin me to spend $1000. $600 is my limit.
EDIT: I just want input, no 'get this instead' crap.

Gigabyte GAM55-SLI-S4 mobo - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6813128321

Athlon 64 X2 4800+ processor - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6819103778

A-Data 2GB RAM - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6820211066

Seagate 80GB hard drive - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6822148231

Philips Combo Drive - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6827248001

Evga GeForce 7600GT - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6814130062

Rosewill 550W PSU - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6817182017

AeroCool AeroEngine2 case - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6811196019

Total = $593.94

I was also wondering if anyone has some important tips of 'what not to do' when building it.

Also wondering what steps to load the software onto the computer since there's a cd with the mobo & video card, plus Win XP.

AND also can I install the video card before I boot it up the first time. I mean, so that I dont have to put all the stuff on there, then have to turn off the onboard graphics, stick the card in, & load it on. and if you have steps to do it in that'd be awesome.

Sorry for all the crap I'm asking for. first build and dont want to screw anything us since I have a tight budget and no room to screw up.

Yeah I know the case is crap, but it's only a case (and for $50 extra you could get the case you wanted - you should have $35 worth of rebates, so it should only come to an extra $15).

If you were to get that, get a larger hard drive. 80GB is nothing.

I had Corsair DDR400 value RAM in my old gaming desktop back when my old X850 XT PE and FX-55 was the hottest thing out.  It worked great for me, I never had any probs with it at all.
