Oh no, not another 9-11 onspiracy theorizer!  I have already had to deal with three of these threads!

When the beams were heated up by the jet fuel, they were not just heated up in that area.  The entire steel structure would have been severly weakend by the heat, not just the floors that started the collapse.

No one should be allowed to create or endorse a conspiracy theory about 9/11 until they have taken upper-division collegiate courses in basic materials science and mechanics of solids (both statics and deformable). Once you take a few of those classes you should realize (if you haven't already) what a big load of shit these conspiracies are. And even after you've taken (and understood) those topics and you still believe 9/11 is a conspiracy, well congratulations now please go kill yourself and rid the world of your utter stupidity.

you know, its funny to hear all of these theories. I guess there will always be disagreement.

My thoughts, from actually reading scientific papers is that they were brought down. Call me crazy, whatever you want, but the temps generated were not enough for a clean smooth demolition withing the buildings footprint essentially.  The uniformity of the collapse doesn't wash. Goes against everything i've ever learned about physics and building science. I'll try and find the link to some other evidence which indicates the presence of materials OTHER than jet fuel that have been ruled out as melted aluminum or other metals due to the properties exhibited.  And its not tinfoil.

but hey, dont listen to me. go out for yourself and learn about stuff for yourself. thats the best way to do it IMO.

And I'm majoring in Civil Engineering. As a matter of fact I have finals next week for my classes on basic materials engineering and mechanics of deformable solids. Earlier in the semester both classes mentioned properties of steel and both professors (these guys actually have multiple degrees and PhD's, unlike the pack of stupid teens who made loose change) discussed 9/11 and what happened.

Im gonna let the go kill yourself part slide because you are probably like me and wonder how the hell anyone can come to such an dumbass position.
But im that guy, and I could say the same thing, but in the interest of a true discussion do your professors have any papers on it or anything? I prefer to hear all the facts as opposed to just believing what I want to believe.

A good part, most likely, but definitely not all of it. Do not forget that fuel fires are drastically different than wood ones.

Its impossible for the human mind to truly grasp the effect that such kinetic force can do to an object, and even less with the combined effect of the heat. As an object grows warmer, it becomes softer, thus malleable.

Would you be capable of striking white hot steel with your fist, what do you think would bend more, a room temperature steel beam, or a white hot one?

EDIT- Mechanical Engineer

good luck with the finals.

Conspiracy theorists drive me nuts though...

Elvis and tupac are dead!
Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy!
20,000 gallons of jet fuel can blow up a building without help!

I still can't believe people think we actually landed on the moon! This whole conspiracy of sending a spaceship there is ludicrous! Not to mention the Holocaust. Puh-leez. That was made up by the rest of the world to start WWII.

lolz

forget the fact that we didn't even find out about the holocaust until late 1944...
and NASA has moon rocks on display...

some people overthink things way too much.

I'm an architect by trade, I have designed and drawn homes and commercial building throughout the midwest for almost 20 years. The towers fell as they should have. Plain and simple. The tower's floor structures, as with most buildings, were built to only hold the live and dead loads of that floor. Once one floor came down on top of the floor below...that was it...that floor can not handle more than it was supposed to and then you have one floor after another taking out the floors below. There are also pictures and videos showing the top of the towers falling over at a severe angle (not enough to topple sideways) but it wasn't as straight down as people think, it depends on what video you see but its quite obvious in a lot of pictures. These jets caused severe damage and basically all it took was for one floor to fail and combined with the weight above, the result is exactly what happened on that day. There was nothing fishy, weird about it. I have talked with many of my friends who are also engineers and architects and we are surprised that it didn't fall or fail faster than it did. When the towers came down...it didn't shock me one bit. The shock was how it happened but thank God nothing has happened since on our soil.

elvis and tupac, i'd agree..

Oswald did it? You're a fucking moron... I cannot stand people that would blindly believe such bullshit.  A bullet, no matter how convenient, cannot defy the laws of physics.  and it would have had to float in the air... doing nothing, for almost a second, then speed back up again for the theory to work. Don't get me started.

the plane was vaporized... chances are, that huge fireball you see exploding out of the building on impact, were a couple thousand gallons of that jet fuel.. though that may have caused it.. I don't know, but by looking at previous government reports, you can pretty much conclude that they're full of shit

Everything you have ever know is a lie.

And can we please keep the JFK assassination out of 9/11?

Meh. Two planes hit the towers. A plane hit the Pentagon.

I don't like the fact that Rummy slipped and said they shot down the fourth plane. That kind of thing isn't something you fuck up saying in private, let alone a press conference.

Now then, the real question is how is it that something like 19 Saudis and a few other men managed to carry out an attack like this without the CIA, NSA or Mossad stopping it.

Bullshit in my opinion. Utter bullshit.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Hey, wait, are you saying the earthquake resonated the buildings to break?

I think that's a load of shit, but then how can you compare a resonating of metal and steel to a large side impact?

You can't. Enough of 9/11. All my heart to the victims and their families, which is what the 9/11 memorials are for, but as far as the physical event just please shut up.

Edit: Reading through again, here's some more. Pay a tad bit more attention in physics. The lower part of the building was not supporting the same weight. 101: A dynamic impact exerts more energy as a static impact. As soon as the steel beams crumpled from the fire damage, the momentum of the top part of the building, which is 10s of not 100s of tons, just tore apart the bottom section as it went down.
