typically, the webbing would allow for 8 magazines (1 already loaded in), 4 'nades and 1 smoke.jsnipy wrote:
How many clips would a real soldier typically carry on thier person?
but not every trooper carries a pistol.
What i am telling you is that you are wrong, and i explained it in the post before, and I needed a way to get it into you're head.David.Podedworny wrote:

Well he had a hell of a lot of magazines... The normal soldier carries about 9 magazines, and if you don't beleive me, well then go fuck yourself. It is not an opinion, but a fact like 1+1=2.
Anyways, getting back on track, you only get 6 mags because the average life span of a player is about 1.5 minutes, and you can get instant refills, compared to that in real life where you dont get instant refills, and most of the time you fire single shot. So no, we don't need more mags or clips per person.
I know i was wrong you did'nt have to go and flame me! Fucken shit seriously dude! Did i ever flame you? No! I wanted to see what other people thought and you come in hear starting shit, etc etc. You know what fuck it! If we cant have a mature discussion about this then i will delete this thread.specops10-4 wrote:

Rule#1 Do not flame on my threads!

Lawl, angry h4x.
I think all main weapons have a considerable amount of ammo (especially the M95)
however the PP-19 only has 3 clips that can be depleted in a matter of seconds so maybe that needs more

i dont have the P90 but i believe it
Hence why you have your SRAW. Perfect multipurpose weapon. Long-range, close-range, it doesn't matter! The SRAW pwns at everything (not so sure about the Eryx [French weapons FTL]).S.Lythberg wrote:

only problem is if u have to guide it then u put yourself at the mercy of a good sniper
When I was in Iraq, I carried 12, +1 in the weapon and on on the butt stock, for my M9 I carried 4 +1. I didn't mess with grenades.specops10-4 wrote:
I laughed out loud when you said that! Do you know how much 15 mags would weigh? Each mag with ammunition in it weighs about 1.5 pounds or more, depending on caliber. That is about 22.5 lbs., way too much weight to be added to everything else a soldier carries.David.Podedworny wrote:
Around 15 and if your in a squad as resupply rifleman you carry alot more.jsnipy wrote:

9 M4 mags=270 rounds
15 M4 mags=450 rounds! That is way too much.
PR is correct, you and BF2 are wrong.
In my full kit I was weighing around 340lbs, I'm 6'5" 250 though, smaller guys would carry less.
Allright then how much did each clip weigh? And you carried an m16 right?SgtHeihn wrote:

wrong, both weapons have mags, a ammo clip is a stripper clip with 10 rounds on it for use with speed loaderskiller21 wrote:

each full mag weighs about 1lb, its heavy but, the reverse is running dry.David.Podedworny wrote:

Edit: My flak jacket with Sapi plates made up most of the weight

Yes but if you actually used your SRAW on armor like they're meant to be, you'd find that your missiles are precious and shouldn't be used on anything but armor and transports. Personally I find myself running low on missiles a lot, mainly cuz I'm teh leet at hitting noobs in tanks and taking them out without them being able to find me. Maybe I'm the lord of sraws?cowami wrote:

Allright then thx for the info. Btw is the m16 as bad as they say?SgtHeihn wrote:

Believe me, once you've mastered the art of hitting the streaking medic, you're quite ready to hit a tank.
Proned medics; that's another story.
What do you mean, "as bad as they say?" I used it in my time in the Marine Corps and it was a good weapon...if you knew how to aim that is.David.Podedworny wrote:

well, close. A magazine is a box or room that holds ammuntion ready to be fired. A clip is a strip of metal that simply holds ammunition together. In the case of the M1 Garand, you could actually load the clip into the weapon. Every other case I know of, indeed, is a stipper clip that you can load a magazine with. 5 or 10 rounds is traditional. Some revolvers, such as the M1918 revolver, fired a .45ACP cartrige, and had to have a 'moon clip,' a circle of stamped metal that held the rounds together to load into the cylinder. The entire moon clip was loaded, and the etire bit was ejected upon reloading, clip with shells still attached.SgtHeihn wrote:

Just for your knowledge, even on an old bolt action rifle, the area under the bolt where the rounds are stored is still called a magazine. On modern military rifles, they are called box, or removable magazines. Of course, that is too long to say; hence, mags.
The same holds true whether for a pistol or rifle.
Agreed. The original M-16 of vietnam era was pretty unreliable. Mostly because the troops had spread a rumor that the weapon was so hi-tech, you didn't need to even clean it. So, they didn't. And the weapon began jamming in droves. That has been corrected a long time since, but nothing sticks around like a bad reputation. Just ask your sister. Sorry, just kidding.killer21 wrote:

The current M16A4 is a very reliable, very accurate weapon.
lol M16's been around since 60's or 70's? (I am NOT into researching guns at all, I've just seen a couple vietnam pics / videos and it looks like they have M16s, so don't flame for this wrong statement.) If it was bad wouldn't they have taken it out?
On the topic. No I don't think you should have more ammo. I sometimes run out of ammo with G36E on warlord (it's SAS starting gun, STFU!) and M16 / AK 101 / 47 on Karkand and Iron Gator. But then I switch to pistol or pick up the kit of the guy I just killed. I mean you would only need more ammo if your a noob and can't use different kits. Unless you just killed a sniper then you just better follow a teamate till they kill someone.
*edit* But on maps like karkand / warlord / iron gator there are ammo bags floating around. If nobody played support I would run out in 3 minutes.

Umm, you just went more in depth on what I saidimortal wrote:

Yeah, I tend to do that. Most people here at work just groan and cover their ears when I start to explain things. They have not gotten to the point where they run away screaming, but I have not given up yet.SgtHeihn wrote:
