When Microsoft started talking up Vista's gaming functionality, PC gamers got all hot and bothered. There it was, laid out in front of us, the holy land of DX10 graphics, and an entire "Games for Windows" marketing program. It couldn't possibly get any better, as our PC gaming world was obviously not dying, and Microsoft was apparently not going to give up on us, expecting us all to move over to consoles, right?

If Microsoft's current PC gaming efforts are any indication, we're all very wrong in that assumption. Judging by the lackluster game releases and the attempt to suck the blood from PC gamers with "Games for Windows Live," it starts feeling like Microsoft is doing all it can to actually kill PC gaming.

Vista...
Not upto standard now.....
But it will be....
and it will give us the platform for the next level of games
.... thus MS keeps PC gaming alive!

.... and who is surprised that their actual games arnt that good?
Leave the OS, DX10/11/12/... to them and the games to EA/Valve/ and all the other big corps (that everyone will moan and bitch about anyway)

Games for Windows is just a certification, it doesn't mean they're all made by MS.

Okay, frankly - screw you all. I am willing to bet that you haven't even used Vista for more than a day. I moved to Vista, and you will all too at one time, and Vista is great now - it'll be even better later.

I agree that it will get far better, later on.

Thats why I'm waiting at least 2 years.

And as for Microsoft killing PC gaming, I doubt it really. It's too large a section of their market to screw over IMO.

Off topic here, but, I'm curious as to why everyone on these forums thinks they need to have barely naked women in their sigs. Not very cool for my work environment.

Makes you feel cooler or rebellious or something. Just go to your Profile, then click Display, then uncheck all the display images things, then hit Submit or whatever

With Opera you can right click and choose "Block content..." and click on the pictures and it will be able to block them. Well at least with the version I use. But it makes me wonder, are all those people small kids who are desperate need of women.

Anyway it's the same thing with XP when it came out, Vista is going to be same. Just wait a while and then switch and it will be fine.

Yes, and I think it is.. lol

It's either that or the new Nvidia drivers I just downloaded L:DKFJ;alkshdf;lajkhd... they're rolled back now..

Eh, my drivers have worked fine *knock on wood*. Try Avast anti-virus, it's free and supposedly pretty good. And it's supported on x64, a blessing in today's archaic 32-bit, non-high def world.

No additional information is needed to know that Microsoft = trying to kill gaming.

Fuck, since Win2000 things have been going downhill.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

It's not Norton.  I got those exact same messages and I didn't use Norton.  I downgraded today to XP and I'm still getting the IRQL one.  I'm almost certain it's the RAM so I'm RMAing it.
