How can I avoid WoW?

It's my birthday tomorrow and my brother plans to buy me WoW, the expansion, and a small subscription fee. I like RPG's but I have no desire to play WoW, or even try it out. A tried to give him subtle hints, and even tell him out right, but he's not having it. He insists that I'll like it so I must try it.

How do I get him to understand?! I refuse to play WoW and I don't want him wasting his money...

You may have to go out on a limb here. I assume you brother already plays the game (seeing as he's trying to push it on you). Ask him to see if you can try it out on his computer first, to see if you like the game. If you don't, ask him to buy another similar game (Guild Wars or to a lesser extent, Oblivion).

Or you can be a total prick and ask for the receipt to return the items later.

I already have guildwars and oblivion. We used to play guildwars together until it got kinda old. He now plays WoW and thinks I'll like it more than guildwars. I'm trying to get him to wait for guildwars 2 to come out and play that (no fees).

He'll buy you a nice FPS.

Gotta be upfront about it, just say that you think elves suck.

Oh, and if you do like elves and shit, then go and accept WoW because you're not gonna get anywhere anyway so you might aswell embrace it.

thats what im trying to avoid. i know once the few months he is paying for runs out i wont buy more, so i feel it will make it an eveb bigger waste of his money though since i know i wont play it much if at all

alright, so i just sent him a txt message saying not to get it because i dont think i will play it enough to be worth the money. he responded saying he already bought it...what do i do?

Honestly though, he probably just wants a buddy to play with.

If you are really worried about getting addicted, just get a third party addon that restricts your playtime.
