is there a way to play on 2 patches without having to uninstall/reinstall
If you have 1.41 as your current patch, and you want to play on a older patch, say 1.12 or something, then no, you have to do a complete uninstall/reinstall..
If you have an older version, and want to keep that one, and get the newer version, then yes, thats possible.

No. You have to uninstall the game, reinstall it, make a copy of the BF2 folder, and then patch each one individually. So you'd have to uninstall/reinstall before you did anything else.

i bought the game at patch 1.3 can i dl 1.03 and play it?

download patch 1.03
patch one of the folders to 1.03

Rename ur current Bf2 folder, launch bf2 disk > setup> uninstall (dont know excactly), then it will only remove the registry files etc. then launch bf2 setup from the disk, install it, download newest patch, install it and then figure out whcih 1 is old 1 and which 1 is new. I actually have 3 patches installed this way, 1.03, 1.4 and 1.41. Only i started with patch 1.03 and went up, dont know how to patch down
