Dude, please here me out. Last fall I was on the brink of getting a new gaming pc, or an Xbox 360. Now being just a little too short on cash for the pc, I got the 360. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy it very much, however, as a PC gamer at heart, I dont think I'll ever be able to fully adjust from BF2 on the PC, with almost unlimited gameplay, to Gears of War or Rainbow 6 Vegas, where after only 2 hours of multiplayer it feels like its starting to repeat.

Personally, I wished I had gotten a new PC. If you're a hardened PC gamer, like me, and love the Battlefield series, and other PC games, dont get a console. Console gamers dont like to hear it, but console games truly ARE simplified to be played by 10 year olds. As far as online goes, its really not worth the 50 bucks for Xbox Live. Game messaging is slow and clunky, joining players is glitchy, not to mention Xfire does everything Xbox Live does with 10 times the efficiency, and its free. I've had a nice little 6 month break from PC gaming, but nowadays the more I play on Xbox Live the more I want to get a new PC and play BF2 and 2142.

PC gaming truly is better than any other platform. Once you've seen the light, there's no going back. Stick with PC gaming dude, and get a new vid card.

also, the people on xbox live are generally worse, at least the competetive ones. They think they're hotshit because they paid for Xbox Live gold and have a headset and can headshot someone online in Gears of War with the shotgun. If you ask them anything about gaming outside of Xbox Live they'll say "Everything else sucks, man. Xbox Live is the shit. Holy shit I cant wait for Halo 3 and Gears of War 2. Every other game blows!"

Personally, Im sick of it.

Right well here is my opinion before you go and buy a PS3.

I will not disagree that PC gaming on-line is probably a much more enjoyable experience in the long run from console on-line gaming. However, you will usually only play a few games on-line on your PC, but with the 360 the chances are that you will play most of them on-line at some point. Be it just to get achievement points or just to have some fun.

But I do agree though that you will play a 360 game on live and get pissed off from time to time by the annoying 12 year olds team-killing all the time, but I think that we on this forum have just gotten too used to being able to play on well admined BF2 servers where people will be kicked for this sort of behaviour.

I would still suggest getting the xbox 360 though because all the games on xbox live tie into xbox live so you can track all your gamer stats, compare with other live players, get your buddy list going, chat with your mates during the game and just have the easy of playing on xbox live.

I only recently joined xbox live and was not too sure about it to begin with, but this is just natural of something new. I added a couple of my mates to my buddy list, and play regularly with one of them on GOW. It is pretty cool as well because you can join a separate chat channel with your mates so you can talk to each other without the bother of these 12 years olds squeaky voices.

About the cost of Live. It is not that expensive in my opinion. I paid £4.99, I think for a months subscription to see if I liked it and also because I didnt know if I would play all the time, but now I find it so easy after work to just pick up the wireless controller, switch on the 360 and within a couple of minutes I am playing on-line. So you are getting the easy of play, the stats and the fun for a subscription fee that you can cancel on a monthly basis if you want.

So I would suggest the Xbox 360 man.

It depends really, PS3 doesn't have any good titles atm, but by the end of the year there will be alot of them, such as MGS, warhawk, liar, tekken 6, heavenly sword, GTAIV and Assassin's Creed(both systems). Each system have it's own exclusive really and it depends what games you wanna play or miss. However, 360 tend to be less reliable and if you visit the 360 forums, you will notice that most people are at least on their second console, on the other hand I have never heared a single thing about the PS3.

Regarding the online, 360 wins for sure only for the time being. In October Sony are going to release HOME, which is a community based service where people can talk to each other in a 3D world, check it out.

As for the price, they are really the same, PS3 comes with a build in Blu-ray player, on the other hand, you need to buy a seprate HD-DVD for the 360, Also the 360 doesn't have a Wi-Fi build in.

If you have that much money to blow on a ps3 either 1. upgrade your computer or 2. xbox 360 ( 360 has a shit load of good games available unlike the ps3.)

Go for the PS3 if you have found the others reliable, if you are into grphics as I assume you are from the "get a new graphics card" option, you will prefer to play GTA4 in a better graphics environment.

Plus when a system seller does come along like the new SOCOM: Online only or Warhawk you will appreciate the free online system.

I have a PS3, and the best advice I can give you is: Buy it based on what games you want to play, because that's what it fundamentally comes down to. I picked the PS3 because I've always been a huge fan of Insomniac games, as well as the GT and FF series. PS3 doesn't have that great of a selection yet, but it will, and the 360 already has quite the library.
