Pre-installed for me. Everything goes up and running. But I get lots of BSODS.
I barely have anything installed, and so far, I have all the updated drivers.

This is the error

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/suppor … ;LCID=2057

I can't seem to find the place where this problem lies.

My mobo is up-to-date, so is my GFX.

What could it be? I have logitech setpoint vista drivers installed. HD Realtek Sound. And G15 drivers.
WiC is installed. CoH is installed. Opera is installed. Winrar installed. Speedfan was installed.

The weird thing is, I have a Western Digital SATA HDD. But it seems that there are is JMICRON RAID controller installed. Which makes no sense whatsoever.
I have a P5N-E SLI mobo.
Is this the problem? But...you see....the P5N-E doesnt have SATA drivers. Only RAID ( unless I get beta ones, which is not recommended )

Could this be the problem? I will kill Overclockers if it is.

Thanks.

I think I found the error. It is the Mouse and Keyboard drivers. As the part that failed on my computer was i8042.prt. Which is part of the drivers for the mouse and keyboard.
How can I fix this?

I have a G15 keyboard and a G7 mouse.

I'm on Windows Vista Ultimate and run a G15. Make sure you have the latest Vista (32/64) Drivers. That BSOD is obviously a driver error, has the BSOD started since you installed any applications or anything? I've been hearing a few problems with the latest Forceware drivers for nVidia 88xx range (150.31 or something?) - so I would recommend that you take a look into going onto older drivers to see if you still get the screens (do they appear at random points?)

What memory are you running? I used to to get BSOD's all the time when I first got the P5N-E SLI. What BIOS update installed? This motherboard is highly particular about memory.

(if you can get a start at all) Also if you can fire up in safe mode use autoruns to disable the driver with i8042 in its name.

Most ASUS boards are very picky with RAM. I was forced to drop OCZ and go with Corsair (which is still fine - XMS2) because of the voltage.

I have this RAM
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu … =MY-058-GL

I just got another BSOD. This time it said "Memory Management".

Its the RAM now, correct?

And as for the forceware drivers, I should install the older ones?

I dunno, I have built 5 systems to date with Asus motherboards, this is the first one that was a pain in the ass.

I'm pretty sure, when you start getting different BSODs it almost always the ram. Did you checked to see if the RAM was on the list?

Zimmer go and look at the OcUk forums at the top right of the homepage. That RAM is very dodgey, especially with any Asus mobo. The main thing you have to do is increase the RAM voltage manually, the mobo doesn't recognise the timings of the RAM and therefore doesn't give the correct voltages.

So, now I have to give back my RAM and wait for a new set from them? Fucking dickfaces.

Did you check the QVL? (Qualified Vendors List) {like jsnipy said, you're RAM could very well be on there)

It isn't on it.
But there is barely any RAM on it. And all the RAM is pretty slow.

You're going to have to find out what exact RAM people are using with an Asus board.....its that picky!

He has a problem while running a game, not a constant one.

Just sent an email to OC. Now I am going to run Memtest.

How do I tweak the voltage settings of the RAM?

In the BIOS - Take a look in your manual for where exactly. It'll be vDIMM or something. There be an overclocking thing, just turn it to manual. I can't remember exactly where, but take a look.
