Kind of a noob question considering i've been playing for a while. But i just started command points and i want basic. But i always end up with ~25-30 Command points when i do good (by my standards) and b4 the x 2. I play on Wake Island alot, so maybe its just not the best level. But if there are any quick tips on how/where to command to accumulate alot of points (at least enought for basic command), it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Drop supplies for your men when they need them. That gives you points.

Remember: Tanks should get supplies first, then squads, then soldiers.

To elaborate on this:

* issue orders to squad leaders
* respond to requests by squad leaders (UAV, supplies, arty, etc.)
* use the UAV and SCAN effectively
* spot enemies not covered by the UAV
* don't fight

I've personally never commanded, what does actually give you points? I see that supplying crates and arty killing will give points but what else will (specifically)? When i get a higher rank and get all the unlocks then I will try it out.

Go on a server that has long drawn out rounds. Warlord is a good map to command on. Usually the rounds are pretty long and the commander gets a lot of points if his team wins.

As a commander your points are an average of what your soldiers do. So if you can order squads around to cap flags and kill people, you'll get a lot of points.

I thought it was your team capping flags and keeping them gets points. I didn't know you got points from supply crates, car drops and arty.

Your commander score is the team's average earned score.

edit: while your commander

No don't listen to them, and stop telling lies please if you don't know it...

Arti kills, supply boxes, uav scans, people killing under uav DON'T give you points.

The only way you get points as commander is when the others in your team get points. It's the average of all the points the guys in your team make. So if you have 10 guys on your team, all making 50 points, you'll have 50 commander points. (500 points overall divided by 10 players) (doubled if you win the round).

(before you start yelling this can't be true, remember that a lot of guys join later or leave while making points already, you of course get a part of their score already)

So best way to go for 40 points is a LONG round. (so either you take a map like dragon valley), or you go on a karkand 64 MAP size, but with only 16 players. Usually the round takes long enough for you to get 40 points.

edit: woow typed this very slow, been said in the meantime

I don't believe that. That would mean your score would go down if a new person joined the game.

The commander score is the sum of all commander points earned. The commander points are every point earned by a member of your team during your reign as commander divided by the total of living team members at the given time. This is multiplied by two at the end of the round, when your team wins, and only if you are still active commander at the end of the round. Artillery kills or any personal achievement does not add up to this number. Personal achievements besides artillery kills are added to your points in the round, and count as combat or team points.

so says Wiki. Its the team's earned points (while your commander) divided by the # of people. Anotherwords the average

Play IO, the rounds seem to last longer, since the fighting is on foot and takes people longer to get back in the action after they respawn.  Also, if you have SF, play that not vanilla.

Cheers.

By map? Warlord IO. If you dont have SF do it on kark. If you cant get to be commander for a round on any of those maps. I suggest mastuur it's also good for getting commander points.(Very few people wanna command on mash for some reason)

I know other people have said that long drawn out rounds with hardly any people on them are the best way to get command points, but I disagree. Just find a mid- to large-sized server, sit in the back and keep the uav and arty going. I've commanded a lot and there have been times where I'll stick with a good team and for 3 or 4 consecutive rounds I'll get around 50 or 60 command points and then have it doubled, and each round lasts about 20 minutes.

well thats GOOD commanding....while its deffinatly better, you don't have to do any of that. If your a commander and your team wins (unless it was a terrible, or short round) you WILL get at least 40 points.

But he needs 40 points before the double. In which case he should command well.
