my screen just freezes up when trying to join some servers. it doesn't even go to the loading screen or anything, just sits there. i alt tab and then ctrl alt del and task manager says bf2.exe is running. when i try and alt tab back in screen is just black but task manager still says bf2.exe is running. on the other hand my game runs fine when joining other servers. i have manually reinstalled bf2, re patched, and still no luck. any help is appreciated. thanks.

if you connect through XFire, the loading takes a while.
All in all, it's best not to try to connect to the servers. You probably have connection issues with them.

i don't use xfire. and the servers that are freezing up, are ones that i have played a bunch. and my ping is good to them before i try to join. its just after i join, my screen locks up and just sits there. thanks.

You're the guy from Sharqi Peninsula right? Look me up sometime if you want to play - xfire: canadazenmaster, even though I see you don't have it.

Lots of people are having this problem in our clan,Cant connect to some servers.Something is going on,It could be the Beta map.Who knows every time EA does something they mess something else up.
I have started to have this problem as well. It seems to have begun after the new beta map. What is weird is that I did not download the Tampa map and it is affecting me.
For me it happens if I search for a particular server by name instead of just using the scroll function. It seems to just never find the connection. It happened when trying to join OFOA and ATF Hump & Dump...

since i got a new keyboard, when i switch between windows and bf2 (Like to switch channel in vent or whatever) the whole screen freeze's for a while, anyone else get this?
