For those still cofused...in other words what i meant was "What's the Easiest Way to Get The Basic Command Badge??"

But anyways I think i get the idea. Thanks for those who helped. 40 points TOTAL command points is easy its just the 40 BEFORE that is harder. I think ima try Warlord IO or Karkand or something...Thanks again

Yes....this stuff is good to know. Im glad to know that arty and crates dont add up in the command points line. I will be more careful using arty when I start to try to command. Always something new to learn.

Eh, no need for IO, just karkand generally. Sit at the back of the map prone and under cover (UNDER, not just behind. Remember, the other guy will arty non-moving blobs), direct your squads according to tactics you've seen pulled and the red dots you see moving, and remember the order of assets:
Scan
UAV over the largest battle
Spot the rest
Arty enemy concentrations without your own troops nearby (with own troops, you risk being autokicked for TKing)
Supply drops where friendly tanks will be soon or are battling
Vehicles on outlying blue dots.
If anyone requests and NEED it, give them priority.

Also, commend squads a LOT when they follow orders. Positive reinforcement, and they'll be more willing to do it in future.

Commander points are the total teamwork points made by the team. Flag caps, resupply, repair, healing, damage assists, and revives. Possibly asset blasting.
Identify chokepoints, set squads to hold them, and arty troops being stuck in it. Blow bridges.
Also, kit choice is important. Medic gives you health icons over troops. Support, ammo icons. Engineer, vehicle health.
Beware of assassins. The trend is now to sneak up and knife commanders, so ideally command from somewhere that gives you warning or makes it impossible. The middle of the ocean, or the guts of a carrier work, as do squatting under a hut in the uncap.

Commanding is good for your KDR! All your arty kills count towards global kills. You will die about 5 times if you're unlucky. It's also good for kit time, useless-vehicle time, emplacement time (AAA on air maps will get bombed a lot), and play time.

Commanding makes you a better soldier! Once you start to see patterns and maps and strategies, you'll be able to put them into action.

On that note, if you DO play IO, command from the roof of the Cement Factory. Play as sniper, and from there, you can shoot people who try to climb up the ladder with the sniper rifle to damage, then kill them with the pistol. Just be aware of the supplies that'll be coming towards your head.

Don`t play on a IO map.
If you have the SF pack "Surge" is a great map to be commander in. 30 points should be no problem.

I used to command a lot, and if I did a whole round of warlord, it was extremely rare to get less than 50 points, even if I lost.  Highrst command only score on warlord is 205 for me.  Just assist your troops the best you can, and for gods sake, don't spot stuff under the uav, or afk's, spot the harder targets like snipers that someone can feasibly go and take out.

To elaborate on this:

* issue orders to squad leaders
* respond to requests by squad leaders (UAV, supplies, arty, etc.)
* use the UAV and SCAN effectively
* spot enemies not covered by the UAV
* don't fight
While this is the 'good' way of doing it, you will get no extra points. Just go commander on a knife and pistol server then go for a run or something. Come back with a nice hefty score.

I've personally never commanded, what does actually give you points? I see that supplying crates and arty killing will give points but what else will (specifically)? When i get a higher rank and get all the unlocks then I will try it out.
Apart from the commanding itself, what gives you points as commander is saying this request when 2 minutes in-game in chat (and/or Voip):
"make/join squads please" , repeated if nessecary with : "JOIN SQUADS NOW !!"

It shows you are willing to seriously command, and most players like that.

Squads give you points, lone wolf not (unless they cap/defend flags maybe).

edit: And the obvious one: try to identify the stronger team and try to command that one; those teams are usually more "squad-minded".
also: try Wake as PLA commander, but make sure airfield flag is defended properly at all times (claymores, mines), even if you have to defend it yourself.

More hints:
--ALWAYS do a radar scan before using artillery! Although arty teamkills don't count, you do reduce the living soldiers on your team, which badly affects the average score you can get until those guys have respawned.
--Do a radar scan before you deploy UAV. It's worthless if it covers an empty spawnpoint with only one enemy. (Unless you're sure where the most action is.
--Don't use the supply crates to repair your commander assets. Check your squads and order all of those that have an engineer amongst them to do the job. You should play the engineer kit anyway to be able to repair them yourself. (Don't bother to fully repair them. You won't get points for that.)
--Continuously deploy UAV and radar and spot every enemy that isn't covered by UAV if a friendly is near.

this could be slighty frowned apon but i don't care

if your team gets all the flags leaving a couple enemys, don't tell your team where they are

let them take a flag,

you will get lots more points this way, but be warned, some people on ur team can get stressy lol

No shit.  When I saw the thread topic, I instantly thought "by commanding".  But what I figured is is that most to all peopel would think that, kinda a small mental joke.  No, a few people must've thought only themselves thought of it.  What's better, is a few people posted it.

Anyway....

My best command scores were always Karkand, half full maps, with a good team. IO helps, but isn't necissary....  As others have said.

in addition to whatever you gleen from this thread, also look for a high points server where the games run forever.

Drop supplies for your men when they need them. That gives you points.

Wrong.

Commander score is the total score earned by your team divided by the number of players on your team.
You can be afk for the entire round and still get the same score as if you were spot spamming and dropping stuff.
