I just bought a new logitech headset and i have it all up and running except for the fact that i can hear myself through my headphones which is extremely annoying. Any help would be nice. thank you.

there should be a setting in your sound manager that says "acoustic noice cancelation" or something along those lines that will do the trick. If you don't find it then just go into your sound manager and play around with the settings and you will find it.
Disable mic playback from your audio settings, but not mic record

k now my friend is saying it is really quiet when we talk over xfire... he can barely hear me. can't figure it out

Turn on mic boost in advanced options in audio options.
that wouldnt work, that just detects itself and cuts the feed, which is a problem using a wide range mic and 5.1 like me, which causes it to kinda, scramblepirana6 wrote:

Maybe your friend has speakers and a mic thats picking it up?
Start> Accessories> Entertainment> Sound recorder
self explanatory.
PS: Revert settings to when you were having the problem. this eliminates a variable
