If you take a headshot to someone from 400 meters, especially normal infantry, it's most likely that the guy has no freaking idea where you are. But the chances are, that someone saw the shot. Enemy sniper, enemy infantry, tank or what ever.Yaocelotl wrote:
when you kill someone you give your position away to whoever you killed. Kill and change your position, if you don't prepare to make good shoots because they'll be back for your head.
Yes, I forgot to add there when you go sniper vs. sniper. All the rest is what you've said.Nanten wrote:

Then I suggest you either play Jalalabad, Sharqi Peninsula, Wake Island. Or any other map with lots of vegatation and maps that AREN'T a million miles away from each other.Special_Op wrote:

Don't bother sniping on Kubra. Everyone usually has a tank or some vehicle or another.

Sweet little hide... as long as you're shooting at people who don't know it.
BTW, you can see about 5 potential spots in that screenie too: at least 1 more on the dam itself, 2 close to straight ahead (think lean-to) and 1 off to the right a bit on the same slope (in the vicinity of the northmost pylon).
I'd avoid the cranes as deathtraps, but it does depend on who is on the other team (and their commander). Even without enemy snipers any decent chopper team can rake the crane if they know to hunt there.
I think Im gonna have to play some kubra tomorrow after reading this.
It's not that bad of a sniper map, depending. I mean quite a few vehicles around but you can usually find infantry at the active flags.
There are billions of spots. If you head into the hills from behind power station and go north you can get a pretty good view of most the map. Lots of litle depressions to prone in, but don't hang out in any one area up there for too long its an arty/sniper magnet.
The nice thing about having so much room between flags, and everyone roaming in vehicles, is that its pretty easy to tuck in some where and have what ever threat pass right by because people are just focused on getting to the next flag.

Oh I have, but you see I was Vasily Zaytsev in another lifetime, I'm too good for them .Nanten wrote:
I suppose you never have had a good sniper to counter-snipe you. Cranes are the first place to look for an easy kill. There's allways some poor nubster that thinks he has found the ultimate place to snipe. Result is, his corpse falling down I even tend to warn them before killing them, just to realize that their spot is plain stupid. Usually something like "Hey XXXX XXXX, You have about 5 seconds to get the heck outta the crane or you will lose your head." But like most nub snipers, they're too concentrated to their sights that they don't really look at the chat. Kinda pity them on my weak moments ^_^M.O.A.B wrote:
Really? I hardly ever have people look for me on the crane, bridge sometimes, but I can sit on the crane and snipe people and the helos with the M95 whilst they go "WTF!"BigmacK wrote:
Both those are death traps IMO. First places I look when sniping.
thanks for all your spots
BTW just on the off chance that you don't already have it set at this, change your Geometry to high before your next game.
Only way to snipe on Kubra is if you can see as far as the map allows, and if you have your settings right you should be able to see player models well beyond 400m. Then it's just a matter of practicing to be able to hit targets that far away
