So basically, I was snowboarding at Mount Hotham this weekend.

Our Cabin was right outside a popular tobogganing run, and I was watching from the balcony.
I was watching 2 kids, climbing up this mountain. They get up high, and slide down, time after time.
Then, after a while, one of the kids points to the hill above them. They climb up, and prepare to slide down.

This is where it gets interesting. Since this run has only just been opened this season, they are still working on the area.
This includes some fencing off to the side. Now, these aren't your normal fences, they're made of thick metal, and theres about 20 of them side to side. They've been fenced off with a make-do fence, to prevent them from the general public touching them.
Now, this one kid goes first, he hops on his toboggan, and starts sliding down. A bit too fast. He was going that fast, he slammed through the makeshift fence, and into the metal plates with a large crunch.
he broke both his legs and was rushed to the resort hospital.

The moral of the story is:

Tobogganing can hurt.

No, the moral is Tobogganers are cocks and snowboarding is better.

I thought Australia consisted of mainly outback/flat desert. I thought the highest rises were Ayers Rock and stuff like that. I don't think there's any high altitude areas/plateaus in Australia.

Wow, after looking at the geographic map. There's some huge range on the South East section. Who would've thought

Owch.

Reminds me of the time I saw a kid trip on a tree root in a park, fall, put both arms out, and break both arms.

The sound of his scream was incredible.

Yeah, they are expansive but not very high. Only a handful of high areas that can barely support a full snow season.
