Only problem that I have is with the players self! Some are just so dumb.

Scenario: two tanks, both engineer. Me and someone else. We run into a lonewolf tank, well no problem we outnumber him. Out guy drives up front. Stops, fires, and takes a hit, quickly back up and pushes me out of the way and directly taking a tank shell afterwards nearly being killed. Try to return fire and take another hit, bye bye tank. Can't they just stay in one place, I mean we ARE repairing each other right?

I don't mind the map at all, and the adverts blend in after a while.

The problem we have is i3d won't put it on the server because it's BETA.

We would have had it in the rotation otherwise.

Why does it have to be BETA, don't they know how to make maps yet ?

Yeah and by doing that they cater to the larger and less friendly chopper-whore crowd. I mean if there was an attack chopper this map would be the chopper whore's dream, tanks all over for TVing and infantry is often bunched together. If they did put in a chopper than whoever got it first would always rule the map, and disrupt everyone else for having fun in tanks.

Its a very fun map, I think it will last quite a long time.  It could use some choppers though.  Since its in beta, I'd add 2 attack choppers per side and 2 recon choppers (little birds) per side.  Maybe balance it out for ground pounders by adding another mobile AA for each side.

You are correct: the two of you are repairing each other and odds are 2:1 best to stay side by side.

I hate when n00b tank drivers want to charge/ram the enemy tank.

I like this map though I am an armor-whore I guess my opinion is subjective.

I/O Highway Tampa would be interesting. Either it will not last at all or be a pure snipers/medic/support map. It would be biotch running around on foot, but I guess there is where the challenge would fall.

at first, i thought, that this map would need some attack choppers.. but take a look on other maps, like op harvest, op smoke screen or taraba quarry. these maps could also be fun for tankwhores - if there weren´t those air vehicles.
i am a chopper whore, but i also know, that they can be too dominant.

I agree.  Finally someone who knows what they are talkin about!

Tampa will last for this reasons.  It's a great map to get your amor badges, tanks everywhere!  You don't like tanks?  TOO BAD.

No, that would *ruin* this map. You put in those attack choppers and you might as well get rid of all the armor. Serious. Two decent lone pilots could just about kill every single enemy tank in about 2 minutes -- and with how much empty space there is to cross in slow ass armor, they'd have zero chance.

The answer is maps like karkand where you can get lots of points from simply throwing grenades and maps like wake where you can get loads of points from a j-10.
Big balanced maps where you may get about 25 kills per round do not last! Evidence= zatar wetlands, daquing, oman, fushee. In my opinion these maps are so much more fun, however, i dont play on them much anymore because hardly nay servers run 64 player maps that include these. Its all 24/7 wake, jalalabad, karkand.
Really is  a shame because most new players have never experienced the days when EA use to run 64 player servers which hosted all the big maps.

SO after the novelty of a new map wears off, how long do you honestly think this map will last?!

Edit: I actually like the map, incase any of you thought i hated it, Im just simply saying what most bf2 players are like
i had the same thought on Jalalabad at first but now i like that map alot , hope they dont make an IO map out of this one cause that would sukk bigtime ... imagine the long walks

agree on the karkand thing but some maps can be a total different experience in other servers in my experience Karkand = good *

played 1 round Highway Tampa ... i like it , needs some small fixes perhaps

i liked the armor convoys a lot ...looking great specially if all of them is in your squad Yeah

that MIG 28 may be the J-10 of Wake in Tampa even with 2 AA linebackers

cool gameplay , looking forward to play on a full 64 server

* There are karkand servers where the battles are really good no nadespammers , etc.

I love Highway Tampa for the sole reason that it is SNIPER HEAVEN on 64 player maps.  Every flag can be approached at any angle (except for seasides) and the land is so monotonous tanks and infantry rarely look to the sides.  I got 9 kills just sitting in the one spot near a flag.  The long viewing distance also helps.

I love the map

a bit gutted that the stats havn't come though for my 3 150+ point rounds yesterday, and alot of armour time (stats > life)

For those rounds i started a squad caleld armour and people that join got the 3 basic rulels of my squad
1. get a tank (and maybe one AA)
2. go eng
3. go in big armoured column and kick butt on everything

i havn't had this much teamwork pubbing... ever, it really is a good laugh tanking around taking flags, having massive tank battles at 200+ with about 5v5

its like a more open version of Op Harvest  but without attack choppers, which imo is a big plus, mainly because i've seen the pain that a good chopper crew can cause on Harvest and tampa is good without them. (and whoever suggested 2 choppers per team can go jump in a furnace)

and i dont notice the ads that much, which kinda surprised me, and i hope they release another map.
