I am in desperate need of a new computer, and I am on a budget. I am wanting to get a computer for Bf2 and CSS. I have looked at the stickies and I want some of you opinions before I buy a new computer. Would this be a good computer for Bf2 and CSS?http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883102029. Please make suggestions if you think I should get something else. My budget is max about 1500$ and I need a monitor also. Thanks in advance for any of your help.

That's a pretty damn good PC right there. I didn't even include the rebates into most of the stuff, and it's still under 1500. The rebates will take away atleast 100 bucks from that price.

DO NOT GET THAT APEVIA PSU, I JUST HAD ONE GO BAD AFTER EIGHT MONTHS (680W BEAST POWER) AND THE REPLACEMETN THEY SENT ME DIED AFTER FIVE MINUTES.

They are standing by it though and i shoudl have my third psu (which they say they personally tested for four hours) here tomorrow.

BTW Posiedon gave you a pretty decent rig. will run bf2/css max w/ good fps

Easily. And BF2142 and Crysis...

The one that Poseidon posted is a pretty damn good rig and should serve you well (though consider a different PSU), still much better than the one you posted originally.

I would go with Poseidon's rig. Although, if you can afford a GTX rather than GTS, this would make it much better.

Why not the Core 2 Duo E6420?

It has a larger L2 cache and currently is a dollar cheaper.

Oh crap! I didn't even notice that. I'll add that in.

And yeah, you have the leeway to choose a better PSU if you see fit. I added in a new one, I have it and it's working really nicely.

That rig will play CSS at max with awesome FPS, and BF2 at high with good FPS. Since GTS's are not that bad in price, don't rule out going SLi GTS's in the future.

Go for a smaller nicer PSU. 750W for that system is ridiculous.

What is it with people on this site and massively overspecing PSUs. You need a nice 450-550W PSU. Seasonic, Enermax and Tagan would be my first choices (and Corsair, since they're built by Seasonic).

The hard drives are also a bit small. Larger drives perform better, those drives aren't very good. Some of the Samsung Spinpoints and Seagate Barracudas are very quick at the moment. Although the idea of running RAID0 and having a storage drive, is a very good idea.

That MSI mobo looks pretty poor. I certainly wouldn't buy it. I definitely wouldn't use it for SLI with 8800s due to the 8x SLI, when for full speed they require 16x SLI.

Find a better Mobo, a lower powered nicer PSU and nicer HDDs, then it'll be a nice rig.
