According to game mechanics, would this be feasible...

[idea]
The enemy is advancing on our base.  I spawn as Engineer and mine the entrance.   When I am done mining a sniper or something takes me out.   I respawn as a Sniper and mine chokepoints for infantry. (Preferably I would swap to a Sniper kit instead of being killed.)  I then swap to a SF kit and C4 the flag.
[/idea]

What would be the timeouts on the different mine types?    Is there a general 'Objects_Deployed' variable that woudn't allow this?

Idea being ... a good way to work on Explosives Badges.

The mines should disappear a little while after you die. I don't know the exact amount of time.

Mines and clays disappear 60 seconds after death (if I recall correctly).

If you want to get Explosives Badges, just clay-whore on an IO server (after some experience, you'll understand).

(I actually pissed of an admin getting my expert Explosives ... he kicked me about 15 seconds after I got the badge).

i think its when the  kit disapears so, it you keep picking up your old kits in turn they will stay down, not sure.

Ok ... so reshape the idea to picking up 3 different kits and deploying their respective mines.

Would they all stay until after you die?

I would rather try and find a way that doesn't rely on 'whoring', or at least what I consider as 'whoring'.   Perhaps EA has a design flaw where you can't get badges unless you whore, but I would rather strive to accomplish things in an honorable manner.  If getting the Expert Explosives Badge means I had to Claywhore, then I don't want it anyways.

They disappear after you die though.... what if you stayed alive.  Do they disappear if you just change kits?

You could be right.

That's definitely the case for the spec-ops kit, you can pick up such a kit an detonate all deployed C4 packs, regardless if it was an enemy's or not.

claymores are best for explosives badge, but if u want to have fun with it, just put C4 on corners and doorways and wait for peeps to walk by.

U not only get kills, but u can also make people piss themself if their volume is up loud.

When the kit disappears from the ground the mines/claymores/c4 does too. To stop them disappearing, just pick up each kit every 30 seconds to 'reset' the time.

That's a cool thing to know but it seems that it would be too time consuming under fire.  Perhaps this idea is only good on the run with a squad chasing you.

Curiously anyone know how long kits stay on the ground?  It sounds like it is more than 30 seconds.  Same timeout as health/ammo packs?

Thanks for the feedback !!!

mines an clays an c4 disappear  60 seconds after the KIT disappears. Meaning{ when you die your kit lays there. after the kit disappears 60 seconds from that and the claymores, c4 and mines are all gone.

Although one round, I was commanding and this guy bailed out from his jet laid mines around my tank and the path way around my tank.

I kill him get then command for about 5 minutes. Look over the mines were still there and his kit was gone.

I get into the tank sit in it and command some more (so no one comes an takes it) then i hear a  BOMB.

Change views and a car dies. The mines are still there.

About 15 - 20 minutes after i kill this guy, his mines disappear. So i drive over get out look around its clear, i hope in drive over were they were and bam im dead.

It said i was killed by a J-10 (he was usmc) he types out "LOL HOW DID I JUST GET A KILL EVEN WITH A J10" i said i have no idea maybe from your mines.

He said" I laid those out over 20 minutes ago they should be gone.
