my friend just bought a computer off the shelf from circuit city.  nothing fancy, C2D and 2gb were what i made sure he got.  i want to get him playing bf2 and i have a left over MSI 6800, pci-e that i was going to give him.  I want to say his psu is only 300-350 watts.   does anyone think this is enough juice to run the card?  my card also has a 6-pin power supply connector.  is it necessary to have that plugged into the psu.  i remember i ran the card without the cable for a few weeks on my old 420watt psu.   so two questions, is 350watt enough juice and does the 6-pin power cable need to be hooked up?

thanks.

I reckon it will be running it tight, if not unable to run it. a 6800 is a relatively powerful card, plus all the other stuff, I'd say 420+ min.

To be a lil more futureproof, get a 550 minimum.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
