I have been searching the net for a sign of help but came up with nothing. Here is the situation, I have a Pentium D 805 (Smithfield) 2.66GHz CPU. Around August I will be upgrading my comp to this......and if I need to change these I will, but I am on a budget, basically.
1. EVGA 680i SLI ATX motherboard (will change if it will have a problem with my CPU) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6813188019
2. Graphics card (probably an 8800GTS 640mb, but I will wait to see what new graphics cards nvidia comes out with)
3. G.Skill DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 Timings (I think) http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6820231065
4. 80GB hard drive http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6822135106
My question is, will my CPU have a spazm and die if I put it in the motherboard, will it crap out with my GPU? Basically I am trying to find a way of avoiding a CPU upgrade, but upgrading everything else on my system (just about) with minimal problems with the computer. I will probably have a new cpu by November-December anyways, but will my Pentium D hold off until then?
ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!
