Anyone else have this problem? You see I've spent two years of my life doing 3 A levels I don't even want to do, 3 A levels I don't care about and to be frank i have not enjoyed the last two years at all as far as education is concerned.

I now find myself sitting at home everyday for the last 3 weeks doing my best to revise, i have sacrificed going out, socialising, many piss ups etc, just for these damn exams. I have finished two exams so far and have another 5 to go, now these remaining 5 exams are real bitches, I've got 3 biology 1 resistant materials and 1 English.

The biology exams i am fucked in. Due to the fact that for the last two years whilst attending my biology lessons i have done nothing but stared at the clock waiting for the lesson to end as my teacher drones on about how a flower manages to grow (amongst other things). I am seriously not exaggerating here, i have literally got 3 books of roughly 300 pages in them each to learn by next Tuesday and when i say learn, i don't mean revise, i mean teach myself everything and then remember it. I cant revise for shit, the books hold my attention for 10 minutes and that's it. Hence why I'm on here! THIS IS NOT GOOD!

Usually i wouldn't give a fuck but i have spent two years of boredom stuck in classrooms learning things i dint want to learn about, and so to fail my A levels would destroy me. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh

Is anyone else in this situation? Has anyone got any advice to help me learn quick?!

Notes: For all you Americans out there College is not university, college is the place where students go at 17 having completed there high school exams at 16, we stay at college untill we are 18/19 and then go to uni.

Don't do stuff you don't want to do. It's very simple advice, yet the majority of the population doesn't follow it.

Maybe you'd be happier doing something like construction or... something along those lines?

Its not as easy as that mate.

I had to choose two other subjects to go along with what I actually wanted to do which was Business Studies. Ended up choosing Politics and Psychology.

I hated both to begin with but then Politics turned out to be alright, shame about Psychology though!

Got A, B, and C which I was pretty happy with. Didn't bother revising too much for Psychology and so got the C. Good thing we have coursework these days or I would've been fucked!

I've finished all my AS exams: maths, physics, geography and music technology.

Not that bad!

Once you start revising its ok, just commit yourself to a time and stick to it.

Im doing History, Geography, Politics and History right now for my A-levels. Just finished one Geography module literally a few hours ago. I thought I'd say my 2 cents.

I got pissed off about the whole A-level thing for a while after I didn't get into the uni I wanted to go to. I slacked on revision and now am feeling shit about it, going into each exam and surviving on little more than luck. Just to say to you, I understand where your coming from. I wish I'd done 3 rather than 4 A-levels now cos it's too much work. You got it far more lightly that me m8 and I'm not gonna sit about and fuck these up, so I think you should just get it over with, do it well and then get completely pissed outta your mind.

Thats how I see it anyway, don't complain, just do and move on to the next hurdle. Applies to everything in life I suppose.

Just a quick question....why did you take 4 in the first place?

Nearly all Uni's take UCAS points from only 3 areas?

I used to hate getting this advice from my dad, but he was right: you can choose, have fun for a few weeks now, or enjoy your efforts for years to come when this is all over.

No matter what you think youll be doing with your diploma, keeping open a few extra possibilities is always a good thing.

How can you spend 3 weeks revising? I'm sure I've never spent more than 6-8 hours revising for a subject - and that was for finals at uni - and I didn't go to the lectures or do the coursework (well, I did some of it, usually the night before it was due in - same with my dissertation, 5 days I spent writing that and the programs to accompany it).

Just don't spend so long revising, go out and have a few pints, relax a bit - then just go to the exams and get good marks, simple.

It's what I do every year, then swear I won't do it the next year. Nothing changes.

Biology I can imagine being nasty exams. You have to just remember stuff - I prefer physics and stuff where you can work out how to solve the problems for yourself. English should be really easy though, just write some semi-coherent rubbish and they'll give you a good mark (I like English stuff, you can just make it up as you go). Resistant materials sounds like it might be tough too, I failled Mechanics and Materials when I did that at uni.

Wait, what? Why are you doing A-Levels that do not interest you and that you don't care about?

I got straight C's in As with hardly any revision, i've revised like fuck recently so here's hoping i get at least a B for my A2's. Mind you, C's isn't that bad. It sounds shit but for A levels it's pretty good. I reckon i could pull of a high B or an A in Physics this time round.

Man i should've chosen pansy subjects like English and RS and Media studies and Psychology.

I was made to take four, and I really wish I hadn't taken Physics and Computing. I've finised my exams now.

Haha agreed.

Media studies and psychology are not real subjects......

They should count for less than maths for example IMO.

Does anyone know what you actually do in Critical Thinking? I've always wondered if they just sit around pondering all lesson.

But physics and computing are easy!

They both make sense and are logical. You can just work out most of the answers, no need for much revision.

It's just thinking, but with added danger

I think it's their AP or honour classes.

ASs are easy compared to A-level.

I have economics unit 5 tomorrow (development economics) It sucks. The teacher we had from it spent almost no time on what we needed to know and most of the time going on left wing anti-corporation rants. We didnt even finish the sylabus because of it

ah well, I only need about 130 out of 210 for an A in it. Doin it an uni though so I wanna do well

lol GCSEs are so easy. You need about 70% on a piss easy test for an A*.

A level biology doesn't require much revision tbh, most of the time the answer is in the question... i.e
Question: ''here is a graph, explain what is happening''
Answer: ''As x increases Y increases blah blah''

Question: ''Here is a fat squirrel, explain why it might survive in winter''
Answer: ''Because it is fat''

If you don't know the answer, and the answer cannot be found in the question then write ''due to the action of enzymes''

If you think you wasted time in biology... well I missed 40% of bio lessons over the last 2 years (literally, no exaggeration) and I need 2 U's in my last 2 modules (less than 40%) to get an A overall.
