Don't know what kind of exam you were taking, but questions like that are probably in SAT's not A-Level exams. I probably got a C in AS because I didnt go to any lessons but hey, its not that easy!Aries_37 wrote:
A level biology doesn't require much revision tbh, most of the time the answer is in the question... i.e
Question: ''here is a graph, explain what is happening''
Answer: ''As x increases Y increases blah blah''
Question: ''Here is a fat squirrel, explain why it might survive in winter''
Answer: ''Because it is fat''
If you don't know the answer, and the answer cannot be found in the question then write ''due to the action of enzymes''
If you think you wasted time in biology... well I missed 40% of bio lessons over the last 2 years (literally, no exaggeration) and I need 2 U's in my last 2 modules (less than 40%) to get an A overall.
lol no, We got to know all the mark boundaries when we got our results. Its about 75% no higher. GCSE CW is easy.jord wrote:

It's 70% and for guaranteed A it is 75%.bennisboy wrote:

WTF! I bust my ass to get 85% for a B and you get A's for getting 70%? I'm moving to UK now.Zimmer wrote:

lol @ GCSES and Standard Grades and Int 2s'.
Just you wait.
Explain the operation of an instruction pipeline and the main types of hazards encountered in pipelines.
Easy stuff. What are the three main types of cache misses. What factors determine the rates of each of these cache misses and how could they be reduced.
Which next exams?Zimmer wrote:

I'm doing AQA bio specification A...and yes it really is that easy once you peel away all the bullshit.buLLet_t00th wrote:

But exams don't get that much harder really, especially not now it's AS/A2 level thingys. Even standards at universities seem to be slipping year by year.Zimmer wrote:

Because people get dumber year by year. Unis and schools know that and have to drop their standards every few years. Kinda sad.Bertster7 wrote:

They're grey because they're fat? The answer has something to do with what they eat. Otherwise they wouldn't give you all those protein types and molecules. You didn't even answer the question.Aries_37 wrote:

Let me make up a more realistsic example then...Question: ''Nuts contain a high proprtion of lipoproteins, polysaccharides in the form of amylose, and complex polypeptides. Grey squirrels from East Anglia have a diet rich in these nuts. Explain why during winter the population of squirrels in East Anglia are predominatly grey?''
Answer: ''Because they are fat''

Lol @ you, even though I dont do biology i can understande that! There are more than one type of squirrel, the grey ones eat more of the fatty nut. result they can stay out in winter when others hibernate or dieMekstizzle wrote:

Aah...that was a stupid question. Giving you all those molecules then asking a dumb fuck question like that. That was barely biology, that was all reading the question and that's it. Silly me, thinking there'd be actual scientific stuff.bennisboy wrote:

I wish Biology was that simple, maybe at year when your 12 you get questions like taht, not when your 18Mekstizzle wrote:

Not that that was an ACTUAL question, just one he made up. Believe me they are a lot harder than that.Mekstizzle wrote:

pretty much what i did for my first year exams.Bertster7 wrote:
How can you spend 3 weeks revising? I'm sure I've never spent more than 6-8 hours revising for a subject - and that was for finals at uni - and I didn't go to the lectures or do the coursework (well, I did some of it, usually the night before it was due in - same with my dissertation, 5 days I spent writing that and the programs to accompany it).
Just don't spend so long revising, go out and have a few pints, relax a bit - then just go to the exams and get good marks, simple.
