I think these two statistics are pretty extreme. Not only does it explain why the U.S. and A is at war in the Middle East,
it also proves that America itself is a consumption beast who depend way too much on the wrong resources.

Kinda funny that the "superpower" nation U.S.A. wouldn't be anything without the oil trade.
You'll have to think new and invest in the future to remain on top.

The chances of oil running out in any of our lifetimes is pretty damn slim. We'll eventually have oil extinction, but by then, we will have discovered an alternate source of mass-used fuel that will take oils place. We already have a plethora of alternate bio fuels, etc. that are 200x more efficeint than petroleum, but converting away from oil is going to be a very, very slow process. I'm not worried about the extinction of oil... besides, it's not likely that it'll happen in our lifetime or our childrens.

Buses don't go everywhere. If I didn't have to have a car I'd much rather save the money. I could save on gas, maintenance, and insurance. There is not a viable public transportation system until you get into the larger cities.
