I currently have the nvidia card but have the option to swap it out with the Radeon but don't know if it's worth it.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Moved to tech!

What interface do you have? AGP8x or PCI-E?

If you have AGP, go for a X1950Pro or Nvidia 7900GS, as those cards are still pretty uptodate and the fastest AGP cards around.

If you have PCI-E, why would you waste money for a X800 card which is pretty outdated?! Rather go for a X19** series or a good Nvidia 7900GT/8800GTS.

Hah, a friggin 9800 XT or FX 5900 prolly beats a 7300 GT.  But yeah, as Sl4y3r said, it'd be pointless to buy that old of a chip-set unless you were getting it for free or something.

Better to get an ATi card that does shader model 3.0 imo.

This is the one I got:

I have PCI-E.

I realize the card is more outdated and that's why I posted to this forum; to get an opinion and guidance as I'm not the full bore tech guy.

No money wasted...the card is free if I want it.

6600 GT is actually on par with a 7300 GT

If it's free, it's definitely worth it.
