XP and Vista still cannot handle 4GB well. At All. You will have problems with the RAM and mobo working well. The best you can get is 3GB. 4GB wont work too well, or will not work at all. Unless you get very good RAM and have checked that 4GB is perfectly compatible with the mobo.
Honestly. It's a waste of money.
Vista 64bit supports a lot more ram.

To Bullet:

I know tech grows and things become cheaper, this is speculation that DDR3 won't be really mainstream until it becomes better and when AMD uses it (DDR/ DDR2 era).
Actually, no. Most mobos don't like 4GB of RAM. It's got barely anything to do with Vista. Mobos have lots of compatability issues with 4GB of RAM.

Zimmer, that's the old days Now mobos support up to like 8GB of ram... Mobos just don't like 4 slots being filled... Setting the command rate to 2T solves the problem.

My new Networking Card came today, as did my Soundcard. Newegg's warehouse is in New Jersey so I get my stuff one day after I order.

And then, my monitor also came today. Needless to say, it is BADASS.

That's my crappy 17" acer monitor compared to my new 22" Samsung 2ms.

i was also playing on a P4 with 512 MB of ram, a Radeon X550 and horrible lag. It was pretty hard to play BF2. I've been trying to get this rig for a while now so I can improve everything.

Not so much 4GBs as 4 DIMMs. 2x2GB sticks works fine, 4x1GB sticks, some boards have issues - especially Asus boards, especially running in double dual channel configuration.

Think again.

Anyway, neweggs supply is kingston and patriot shit. OCZ, G.SKILL, GEIL > that crap.

You said out there. Last I checked USA is out there!

Patriot is FTW. My friend has 2 gigs of Patriot eXtreme and so do I. I obviously haven't used mine yet, but he's been using his for about 2 months and it is AWESOME. Easily OC'able too.

Newegg = Internet... If you are here on BF2S, you could be at newegg.com...

Also, Newegg has a LARGE supply of all the performance rams... OCZ, Geil, Corsair Dominator, extremes and performances, and gamings, and all the goodies...

Also, Poseidon, I like your new sig, but I LOVED your old one... It really stood out and looked original...

Yeah, but they're only available in the U.S....Pwnt!

I'll keep this sig for a week then revert back to my old one.

That 17'' can't be worse than my Dell 1905FP with 20ms response time.....

Nice rig man..Now you will be able to do this all at once Man I love those C2D's
https://i17.tinypic.com/6h3h6ds.jpg
I am currently reinstalling Office 07, downloading Music for my Zune, watching a DVD, ripping a DVD, and typing here.
Installing CS3 Master Collection did take some time though .

Also for the record Zimmer and others,  I have no issues with Vista 64 and 4 X 1 gig sticks of ram (Patriot). My board = BFG 680i.

Hot damn! Imagine what you could do with A Q6600?

My 590i and 5600+ should sell today. It sucks, I would have gone with it originally but when I ordered it, the C2D was $313.00

I plugged in my 22" samsung monitor to my old P4/Radeon X550 machine...it's INCREDIBLE!!!!

Also, question. When hooking this monitor up to my new rig, do I use the DVI or the VGA cables?

Oh the shame .  The memory difference between 64 and 32 bit is considerable to say the least. Also, (side note) ready boost in my opinion does not make a noticeable performance increase. This is the flash drive I used. The results were disappointing. I think ready boost was designed as a "bail out".
