I did stuff like that on everyone of our big projects.... let me send you my rewritten ending of romeo and Juliet........
I personally believe the ending is crap. I don’t really enjoy spending about 2(+) months on a book to find out that about half the crew dies, including the main characters. If I was to rewrite it, some people would die, but I wouldn’t go on a massacre killing off all my characters like Shakespeare did.
But if I could to rewrite it, I would start to change it around the time when Tybalt and Mercutio fight each other. In my version, Benvolio would stab Tybalt missing his heart by a millimeter. Benvolio is banished, but later found and killed. Romeo goes to Benvolio’s funeral and is furious, and runs to his sweet Juliet and they have a slumber party. Then Romeo goes to the hospital and warns Tybalt that if he ever sees him again that he will slice his throat and watch his entire blood spill out unmercifully. Tybalt didn’t listen, and after he got well, attacked Romeo. During the battle, Romeo knocked away Tybalt's sword and slit his throat. After that he went and asked Lord Capulet for his daughters hand in marriage hoping that he hadn’t heard about Tybalt's death. Lord Capulet just laughed at him and had him quickly removed from their castle. He was so angry that he was ready to do anything necessary for him to be with Juliet that he didn’t have to hide it. Romeo went to the Friar to confess his sins. Then he went to buy some various items from the hardware store. He spent several weeks hiding because of his banishment. The weeks quickly passed as he built a time machine. So he goes back in time to the fight of Tybalt and Benvolio and drags Benvolio away. Romeo was going to run away with Juliet but he realized that Tybalt would come after his family if he did that. So he came and found Tybalt, and challenged him to a duel. Tybalt said, “This is madness.”
And Romeo replied, “Madness? This is VERONAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” And kicked him down a 4000 foot drop off a cliff. Then ran away with Juliet and lived happily ever after. Two weeks later the families had a giant brawl and everyone was killed (except Romeo and Juliet)
