I think it would be wise to get a Core 2 Duo, they aren't particuarly expensive, but your options will be much greater.

And to Zero! that mobo and graphics wouldn't work, it only has an AGP slot and that graphics is a PCIe card me thinks.

Well I would Like a newer processor but one with the sam or faster clock speed.

Well If I spend a bit more cash I am willing to spend around £250 on a New processor and I will stretch my budget to £500 in stead of the original 350. so play around and see what is the best that i can get for that amount of money.

What you have now is just one core, what you get with C2D is either 2 or 4 cores, even if it says 2.0Ghz what you are really getting is two at that speed.

And you only really need a sound card if you've got amazing 5.1 or 7.1 speakers. The onboard sound can handle speakers pretty well on the newer boards.

I have found this Whether it will asist you or not I dont know but its a AMD processor. (its a 3.0GHz dual core So please try and work with this processor in mind.

Not a intel(much more expensive)

No, no, no and NO.

C2D = cheaper, faster and better than AMD.

Fact.

For what he wants to do and for that price its pretty good. They're the easiest chip to clock and a monkey could get that up to E6600 speed, the FSB doesn't matter because the RAM isn't anything special.

Now im the idiot I found a better one in my price range.

This is the C2d Processor I found. Please tell me whether it is any good.

I dont think you understand.....did you read my post?

YOU GET TWO CORES AT THAT SPEED!!!

Oh jeez. You don't get it, do you?

A C2D means it has 2 CORES. Meaning you can outer perform ANY 1 CORE CPU WITH IT.
Your CPU fails compared to ANY C2D.

The 3.0GHz clock speed is shit compared to a 1.83GHz 2 CORE clock speed.

Sorr y its because im tired Thanks to being up 40 hours watching le mans and the Grand prix so its my fault for not reading.

That C2D processor you showed us is COMPLETELY UNECESSARY.

A 1.83GHz is perfectly fine. You can overclock that to over 2.5GHz.

Well what speed would i expect to get the C2D processor I showed you clocked up to basically if I can get the total above 6GHz I will be a very happy man.

Put it this way I am willing to spend up to about £600 anymore and i wont even think about getting those things.

Look. C2D means that the work load is split into 2 cores instead of one.
Like a parallel universe. So everything is done twice as fast. Although that DOES NOT mean your speed will be 6GHz. It just means oyu are lightening the workload done on the cores of the CPU by half.

So it went from £350 to £600?

Look up Dual Core and Core 2 Duo on Wiki.

Edit: I don't think anyone has got anything near 6GHz, I think the highest on liquid nitrogen cooling is just over 5GHz.
