I was just reading this article: 'Evil' Credit Card Companies do a hit job do a on Lifelock? (Is This The New Wave Of Industrial Informational Warfare?)

about this company called LifeLock.  This is a company that you pay $10/month to protect you from identity theft.

Seems that a dossier of some 'shady' information was made about the the original owner.

Is this the 'evil credit card companies' doing a hit job on this startup to stop them from protecting us from identify theft?

it;s not the credit card companies, it's the people like experian. why? apparently because they don;lt want people to opt-out of their information being sold ( BTW, experain has another reason. it has a similar product.) I donlt know the truth of it, but if true, then it is outright libel on the part of the companies doing it. if not, it is libel on the part of the writer of this article, unless he can prove public interest ( which would be fairly easy, IMHO)

If recent history is any indication, the future is likely to give corporations all but complete control over our financial lives.  They already have more rights than individuals, so this isn't that surprising.
