Please only reply if you do have proper army training experience.

Scenario: You have just joined the army, and you are going through your intensive training. You have received an order (say, 25 press-ups) but you just refuse.

What would happen to you?

I'm assuming your refering to basic training here.

He would make your life fuckin miserable.  KP duty, cleaning shitters, buffing battalion floors till they sparkle, less sleep, less food, send you to other platoons to get mashed up by other drill sergeants.  Or if your lucky you go straight to TOP himself and he straightens you out.  The scenarios are endless really.

The DS would probably insult you, your family he's never met, and make you do shitty work.

In short, do as Sarge says

Due to legalities and other BS, I don't think this is possible.

1st time: Punishment left to the discretion of the DI, (Within reason).  And you'd still probably end up doing what you were told to + More
2nd Time: Referral to someone higher in the Chain of Command.  If you can't hack it, you'll likely be dropped.
3rd Time:  If you made it this far, and are still refusing, why are you still here?

Again, you can challenge unlawful and outrageous orders (to an extent), but you can't just go around refusing to work.  (U Signed the Motherfucking Contract)  Don't expect a cakewalk.

why would you join the army if you didnt want to do push-ups. Fully know that it would be required of you.

When i went through training a guy acted up and didnt want to do certain things so instead of just him being punished the co would punish all of us.Needless to say the rest of us got sick of taking punishment for this guy and took care of the problem ourselves.(soap in a sock anyone)

it depends.  if this is a trend, youll get kicked out.  the Army dont have time for people not willing to play along.  you might see UCMJ(uniform code of military justice) which would lead to an article 15 or corrective training.  article 15's  means they take away 2/3's  of your pay and make you work past regular hours.  youll only get about 4 hours sleep a day depending on how lon g the punishment is.  and, if you really get on their nerves,  your chain of command has the legal authority to put you in confinement in a stockade for disobeying a lawful order.  since stockades are a thing of the pass for the most part, youll be put in a regular local civilian jail until your discharge which could be from a few days to a few months.

i know i am not supposed to post, but if "25 press-ups" is [your] breaking point, [you] have more issues than the consequences of [your] refusal.

Getting drilled beyond breaking point will turn you into a real man, you know who to thank when your time has come.

*whispers* my bad!

Seriously leetkyle you couldn't figure out this on your own that the DI would kick your fucking ass for not following orders, and not just physically but you would be pulling so much extra duty and shit that you wouldn't know wtf you where doing as extra duty to begin with.

They would make your life hell.  Face it; you have volunteered to join the army, and refusing a lawful order is a serious offense.  If they decided to keep you, your drill sergeants would know your name, face, and attitude problem, and each of them would make it their personal duty to find ways to break you.

Of course, if they ever get sick of you, they will just list you as a discipline problem and kick you out before your training is ever finished.

Let me get some things clear here; I'm not joining the army. I had an idea of what would happen the first time, but after a repeated second and third time? That's were you army folk come in
