every time i try to put on my AAX4 (nvidia card) i hit apply and it goes back off! what the hell is up with this!?
in game or in nvidia menu
ur card cant support it
...do you have AA under your nivida control panel set to Use Application Settings / Let Application Decide? (im ati so it might be worded different)
in the BF2 options menu, but i have had the AA on before so i know my card can and will support it; i just installed SF and now it doesn't work, it's like it turned itself off and won't turn back on
right click nvidia in your menu by the clock
then go to performance and quality
go to aa change it from app controlled to 4x
should work

go from 2x then to 4x
Yeah; just remember this will force all games to be 4x AA unless you specify otherwise.wachtler83 wrote:

Same for me. How to fix:
1. startup game and go to options
2. go to video options
3. make AAx4
4. Hit apply
5. Answer "Ok" to that "settings cannot be applied" window
6. Exit out of Options menu and BF2 altogether
7. Repeat steps 1-4. This time it should give you a different message. Click "Ok"
8. Give me +1

lol, alright well me and my brother share this computer and he must've move the nVidia link by the clock, how can i get to it through the start bar? (also, i don't have enough posts to have a say in the karma system, thus i can't give you the +1; i would however, even though your advice does nothing for me, thats what i've been doing for like 3 hours)

Start>Control Panel>NVIDIA Control Panel
then what?
Its because your card, like mine, cant handle it, try AAX2. Do you happen to have the Geforce 7800?deadlikeme667 wrote:

15 more years! 15 more years!
O rly? Srry then. It worked for me on my 6th try. I'm not kidding. For some reason it didn't work until my 6th try in a row.deadlikeme667 wrote:

Although I have an ATI card, I use BF2 settings for AA since the drivers don't work correctly.
If you are having problems with BF2 then do this
1. My Documents>Battlefield 2>Profiles> Under the profile you want AND default edit both Video.con files(open with notepad).
2. Find line VideoSettings.setAntialiasing
3. Enter the sample level you wish to run BF2 at.
For example if you want to run 4AA then the line in the file will look like this
VideoSettings.setAntialiasing 4Samples
Hope that helps.

what does aa do anyway? i never have messed wit mine
I have noticed that you can't set the AA option and the dynamic shadow option together with any other option.
That means, you have to set those two separately from all others, with a restart of BF2 in between of each.
