I was just wondering how you pronounce the following word: Pferdestärken

I was thinking (fert-shtar-ken)

, elaborate on how you pronounce the "steair" bit... is it just simply (ste-air)?

Thanks for help!

kinda like stair, but with a bit of a scots accent. i dunno how to explain, just draw out he "a" for a half a second and you'll get away with it

yeah actually, but it's one syllable, so steair, not ste-air if you get me. explaining pronunciation is hard with text!

You need to get the "PF" - i don't quite know how to get this straight on purpose, but I suggest pressing your front teeth onto your lip and also pressing your lips together while you try to pronounce a normal "f" - as soon as you let it go, there will be a "PF" I hope.

okey.

"pfairdeh" should be the first part of the word, and you pronounce the "deh" like you'd probably pronounce a "teh", just a little softer on the "t" that it makes it a "d".

"st" is like "sht" like "shit" without an "i" but a little softer, I suppose.
"stär" is just like "sht+air" "shtair"
"ken"... well, try to swallow that "e" like it wasn't very prominent at all.

So it should be "pfairdehshtairk'n"
