So, I'm off to university in September, and when I went to visit, I saw all these dudes gaming in the library, outside, on the roof, everywhere. (Yes, gaming with a mouse/joystick outside on the bench and what not) I decided I want to be like those guys.
Yeah, I know there are many a thread about laptops, but the laptops asked for/suggested in those threads are for recreational use and are kind of budget. I am a pretty big computer gamer, and I want a gaming laptop that can run all sorts of games on max graphics. A fairly serious gaming notebook is what I desire.
But, alas, I can not decide upon one myself. I was looking at this one (click on insane gaming), but I'm not big into the notebook sectors, so I don't know how the competition amongst this market stands up, what's the deal with the XPS's, the Alienwares, the Falcon DRX's and such? How do they stack up? What do you recommend? Is buying a gaming notebook a better alternative then taking my desktop and getting a crappy notebook for notes and such?
A side note, my parents said they'd rather not spend above 8 grand. (Canadian)
