Brooklyn is my favorite. I'll actually be moving there at the end of next year. All the way at the end near Ave. U and Neck Road. Brooklyn is actually very nice, and after spending a lot of time there, Queens is just annoying in comparison. I almost feel like Queens wants to be Brooklyn, but anyway. Prices are steep, so try to stick to an outlying borough. I would suggest Brooklyn first, then Queens; Manhattan is way too expensive, and I don't know much about the Bronx. And contrary what people may tell you, NYC is quite safe. I feel safer in NYC than I do in Albany or Binghamton any day, you just need to have some common sense.Superior Mind wrote:

I'm moving there. When? Not until next year...it's the soonest I can get my job transferred out there.
Problem being? I've never been to NYC before. I'm heading out there in August/September to check it out...but I figured I'd post in here to see if I can get any advice/input from people here. My best friend just moved out there...he found an apartment in Bay Ridge, which is supposedly a pretty nice part of town. Low crimes rates, not too expensive, easy transportation to Manhattan. He told me I should look there and Park Slope...but other than that...I don't know much of anything about the neighborhoods. Manhattan is probably too expensive for my tastes and I know there's parts of Brooklyn that aren't the nicest...but...what do you guys think?
