[WoW] Trojans and Keyloggers.

My dad does internet security, and last night he was telling me how hackers were getting into systems through World of Warcraft using trojans, or they just put keyloggers on your PC to steal your Character's stuff. My little brother plays, so I'm like "Oh hell, I bet we have like 5,000 trojans now...."
So I run a scan, and sure enough, WoW has 3 infected files with trojans and 1 with a keylogger in it.
I beleive the files were a "Background Downloader" and 3 patch files. I asked my bro about them and he said the patches were recent and the background downloader has been into effect for a long time to download patches. So the reason I'm posting this is, if you or someone else plays WoW on your PC, run a scan. It could help .

wow, just unbelivable... WoW...

good thing i stopped playing that game centuries ago. got me a level 59 paladin...

as if there is not enough bad things about that game already.

the thing that auto patches it in the backround is normal according to my friend,
but the key loggers he says are picked up buy doing things like buying gold or going on none official WOW sites,
hes had 2 key loggers before and each one hacked his account and deleted every item he had both times.

WoW= waste of time,money,effort,LIFE!!

Well lets see, my virusscan software detected BF2 as a massive trojan, mind you this was on the DVD before I installed it. Virusscanners aint perfect...

They didn't get into your PC through World of Warcraft or Blizzard Downloader.

They didn't get into your PC through World of Warcraft or Blizzard Downloader.

1) Uninstalled WoW a while back, been having problems since long before then.

2) No WoW related programs are run on this PC anymore unless you count WarCraft 3.

3) Blocking ports did fix my issue.

, Oh and my brother's never used bots for WoW. Neither did I.

I've played WoW for a while, had all the patches, many mods and plugins, not a single virus, and thats without my security software, hells, I dont even need my security software, nortons a piece of shit anyway.

Only happened since the last patch, pretty sure WoW isn't a Virus, it's been installed for almost 2 years on my PC and i've never had any viruses or trojans reported. The problems with Keyloggers are different and mainly come from people visiting non official WoW sites or clicking on links posted by lvl 3 trolls in the forums.
