Woulda been Russia. Bootstrapping off the German research, they woulda figured it out and set one off.

If it wasn't for the nukes, we'd all be living in a warzone. WW2 would have let straight into WW3 fought over europe and an eventual invasion of America or Russia from the other side. No nukes = no reason to quit fighting.

I dont know who would have dropped the first atomic bomb. But the only reason why they did drop the bomb, is because they did'nt want russia to kick the japanese asses and steal their victory. Just so they could say "we won the war!"
