What is everyone opinion on the mousing surface?  Anyone buy anything special (extra flat) for the mouse to rest on?  I'm still old school on my mouse as well.  Looking to buy one but will need to replace this mouse pad because it has about 1k worth of divots in it from times I kinda got mad.  I'm sure the laser would have a time measuring correctly on this pad.
s&s Steelpad for me, makes a difference if you have a good mouse, doesn't affect much on cheapo ones.

I just use my G7 on my wooden keyboard platform. The non-friction pads on the G7 act like a mouse pad, but without the edges.

I've got a new G5 (the 2007 model with 2 thumb buttons) - I can't imagine a better mouse.

I'm using it on a Steelseries S&S pad.

I have a MX-518 and a Fatal1ty 1010. I use either.

But do not ever use a wireless mouse. There is a lag, not much but you will get killed more.

My two buddies kept complaining about getting fragged when they thought the pulled the trigger first. Going back to corded mouse fixed it.

I have a Razer Diamondback, and a Second edition Icemat, i mostly play COD2, and CSS, so high speed movement is very important, but i love it in BF2 too. my bro has a G5, and its really great too. If you like to move your mouse with your fingertips, get a razer diamondback (or copperhead) if you move the mouse with your palm, go with the G5 (or MX18)

Dunno.. i've stuck with razer since the Boomslang. No Razer has never let me down & i hear the Habu is really just a Copperhead with MS on it.

I don't have to take this abuse from you, I've got hundreds of people dying to abuse me.-Dr. Peter Venkman:

You talk so much shit it's unbelievable.

Do you even know the time difference involved from corded to wireless?
Are you off your nut? Not even a computer can notice the difference. They must have just been using shit mice, or just talking crap because they sucked at BF2.

ultimate solution-nothing can beat out this combo

heres the new G5- http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-910-0000 … amp;sr=8-2

if you get one make sure you get the new one with two side buttons

and i know a lot of people who say Razers are the ultimate mice, but personally i find them really uncomfortable. they just dont fit in your hand right and get really uncomfortable after long periods of gaming. the logitech mice are larger and fit more naturally in the palm of your hand, and are very comfortable after long use. if you want a mouse with a bunch of fanboys and a fancy lights, get a Razer. If you want a real mouse that you're really gonna like, get a Logitech.

I have a G5 with a steelpad 5L

-insanely smooth.
-the materials used to make the G5 are much better than those for the MX series. Far better grip, non-sticky plastic, no sweat.
-the new G5 has all the buttons the MX have.
-use 2000dpi as standard for great tracking/smoothness.
-far better cord, doesn't get in the way

coming from an MX510 and an S&S steelpad

both logitech and razer have very good mices ^^. But i recommend razer copperhead since it has a in built memory to store your settings, so u can plug your mouse anywhere without installing any software and it will be set to your settings.
