I'm not sure if this has been posted before.

I find that I am getting teamswitched all the time and then finding it impossible to get back, meaning that since I mainly play with my squadmates, I'm having to spend about one third of the time sitting the round out since some of my squadmates cry if I kill them from the opposite team.

It's bloody annoying.

Does anyone know why some people are getting swtched far more than others?

Even if I only die twice in a round I am still getting switched.

pretty annoying yeah they should only "allow" unassigned (no in squad) players to switch from teams (or one-man squads)

Kill them anyway and tell them to get better so you can't.
It doesn't happen to me much, but when it does it's damn annoying.

I don't know why though, sorry.

Whats more annoying, when you try and switch back you get a -2 TP penalty and you die.

Auto balance will randomly switch unprotected (Thats people not on the server profiles list of unswitchables, set by the profile admin of the server. Unswitchabls can be Commanders, squad leaders or Squad memebers & you can allow or not allow them to be switched by auto balance on your server if you set this up) The other way is if you are moved to another team by a server admin on Battlefield 2 Control Center

Ahh, i have this problem too. What I usually do is learn as much as I can from my squad, see their tactics. So if i get switched I know what they will do. I follow a rule that helps quite alot. Never trust anybody on your team. If you're switched have no mercy in killing them. It's happened before when I was a squad leader and i got switched to the other team. I ran into one of my former squad members and for about 4 seconds he hesitated to shoot me.

If you get team switched, just kill the guys on your former team.  Your fighting for the win.  If it pisses your friends off, well too bad.  They need to get over it.  You have no control over being switched.  If your in red, I'm killing you before you can kill me.  My clan mates have no problem with killing me, so I don't have a problem killing them.  We try to get on the same team, cause we like to work as a squad.  The other day a friend of mine from a different clan came into the game I was playing.  As luck would have it I killed him first, we were on different teams.  He got me back later in the round.  As soon as the map switched, we got on the same team and squad to work together.

Edit notes:

I saw guys from the same clan on different sides playing in the server I was in.  They were trying even harder to kill each other, than the other guys nearby on the other side.
