Hey guys. I just got a new NetGear router. Im trying to conect two pc's. My main pc is fine and connects to the internet. The second pc will not.

On the second instead of "Assigned DHCP" under address type, I got "Automatic Private Address".

My friend says thats the problem but can't figure out how to change from "Automatic Private Address" to Assigned DHCP.

Karma for help.

"Automatic Private Address" is under the Alternate configuration, which is the default. What happens when you run ipconfig /renew?

"error renewing....the DHCP client has detected an IP already in use on the network."

I had screwed with the IP address trying to fix it. I am running renew again with the default setting...

I found if I power up one pc before the other, the first pc up has internet while the other doesn't.

The GS605 is a switch, not a router.
