Weapon unlocks and special forces

Hey,
I have been playing bf2 for a while (2,000 global points) and a brought special forces. i was reading somewhere that when you have special forces you get 2 unlocks for each rank. one for bf2 and one for SF. Is this true? if it is when that stats become up and running again will i get to choose from new weapons (SF) automatically from previous ranks because i got past them before i got SF?

yup, all the unlocks you get for BF2 you get for SF also. i just got SF and iam also waiting for the stats problem to start working.

Yes. You get "reimbursed" and get an extra unlock for each rank you have gained.

Before you ask, the MP7 rocks.

Yes. You will be able to chose an extra unlock for each unlock you have. So far you have 2 unlocks so when you install SF you should get 2 more unlocks straight away, plus 2 unlocks each time you rank up. You shouldn't have to wait for the stats to come back because you already have 2 unlocks.

NB: I had to re-install SF because for some reason I didn't get the unlocks when I first installed it. But I'm the only person I know of who's had that problem.

i dont think my new weapons have appeared yet. i think the stats have some sort of control over the weapons system. mmm I need to choose some guns now. recommendations?

L96A1 has very little bullet deviation. G36E has no recoil. F2000 comes with flashbangs. Those three are best imo.

Depends. Long range M24/L96, Anything else the other guns, Personally i love using the g36e and Scar-L to snipe.

You actually have the G36C.

And I'd personally recommend the MP7. High rate of fire, damned good iron sights. Only problem? 2 magazines with 40 rounds.

EDIT: Of course, as a sniper, go with the M95 and L96 (you need the M95 in order to get the L96).

You can use both of your new unlocks to unlock a tier one and two of the same class. That is, the newly gained SF unlocks do not have to be spent on SF weapons. You can use them to unlock regular (tier one) weapons, too.

P90 is my personal favorite SF unlock.

The first tier medic unlock barely ceases to amaze me. (L85A1 I think?) Deviation is bad, but seriously, you can get some crazy mad headshots when you least expect it, even though the gun sounds pretty gay.

MP7 is the 2nd tier engineer unlock. It's the smallest weapon on there.

Picture this: An MEC engy runs around to hide behind the pallet and flaming car on the left side of Karkand near the US uncap. He pops up, fires of about 5 shots and happens to kill a USMC support guy.

Neither of us knew how the hell it happened, but it had to have included 2 headshots.

Meh, I've had some lucky shots and stuff with it, but I wouldn't call it doing well since it isn't consistent. I still think the L85A1 would be a better unlock than the MP7. I'm shooting as the guy that decides to duck behind a barrier and I get one hit indication and a kill. I say again: that gun barely ever ceases to amaze me - headshots and kills when you least expect it.

But in the end, you end up with all of them anyway.

But what about when you do expect someone to die? Thats always my problem. Nevertheless, Im always in the middle of Karkand gettin Arty'd, G36E'd, naded, or something else. Meh. I would get L85A1 only if I was doing some mid-range sniping thing. Best way to do it, not real close quarter combat type weapon.

IMO, get the snipers. They rock.

Or get support. You can do some pretty amazing things with those guns.

Hm. In your position, I'd say get the DAO12 and the L85A1. They aren't SF unlocks, but the DAO makes AT playable, and the L85 is accurate enough in short bursts for you to kill people quickly.
The F2000 is the best first SF unlock. I recently got it myself and have fallen hard for the thing. Scope, accurate, powerful, and sounds right as well. Also, the crosshairs shrink really fast after moving, so you can chase people down and shoot them. Very important when you're being chased around a terrain piece by a trio of snipers and a medic, trying to evade the dreaded G36E kill or letting someone lay a claymore at your feet but also trying to stop them flanking the barely-held CP.

Yeah that kind of stuff happens too. Blame the deviation.

I agree that you should unlock the PKM (RPK is better though IMO), but the MG36 is... eh. I like it, but it's not something that you can rely on to be really accurate. Plus, the iron sights are off (according to that one thread here somewhere.).
