I first had a problem in early Dec., after a late start playing the game (say mid november). I experienced
long load times, <ie...verifying client data> to the poin I was getting kicked for In-activity. I tried
re-installing BF2, the manual updating of pb, etc. I was having the eternal verifying client data....to the
tune of 8+ minutes that resulted in my being kicked for in-activity. I ended up playing one server
maps...ie Wake Island for the most part. I even went to 2 gigs of RAM, about 2 weeks ago, it
helped alot, especially if I could get into a game. However, after I manually updated pb a couple
of nights ago, I was once again unable to play.
This time I had the eternal stuttering, low fps, didn't matter which server, game running or waiting
for enough peeps.
I think I fixed it this evening. I threw in another hd, installed/updated windows, installed BF2,
patched, and I played all evening with faster load times than ever, smoother play......<insert
good things here>.
Just think it's due to the excellant coding of both EA, and pb..., suppose I'll just keep a semi-
duel boot system going for awhile...
At least it's nice to be able to play again.........cya out there...
