A friend of mine fairly recently had a major problem with his computer. He was playing BF1942 on midway when all of the sudden, his computer restarted. He says it was wierd, but he was fine with it. Problem was, his computer didn't stop restarting. As soon as it'd get to the "welcome" screen for his desktop, it'd restart.

Aparently, one of the boot files was completely gone, or something of the sort. He lost everything on his computer as he had to reformat.
What the hell is this? Anyone else have that problem before?

(Oh, BTW incase one of you ask... He had med specs. Nothing outdated, but nothing top of the line either.)

I had the same thing happen to me with bf2 last year. I'm willing to bet it's got something to do with punkbuster fucking up.

But if punkbuster crashes while scanning, it can corrupt files.
