Yes, Iwo Jima is in BF1942
Ahh,memories....

I got 30 kills and no deaths on Iwo Jima by being a battleshipwhore!!

I wonder why EA didn't implement the ability to control the ships in BF2,the naval battles were really interesting, although a bit slow.
But with a moving Essex the jetwhoring could be turned down a bit,the flipside would be assholes who drive the carrier off the map(happened all the time on BF1942-wake-demo...good times, good times..)

Any other former/ active/ reserve Marines who play this game get slightly irked when the commander says crap like "Fight harder soldiers!!"? Don't call me a soldier you ass!! Call a Marine a soldier and you get knocked out. CO should call us "Marines" dammit!

Another thing, Marine medics?? ALL medics associated with the Corps are Navy corpsman! Not Marines! And what the hell is with the anti tank bubba doing with a crappy mp-3 or whatever? Give that man an M-16! That's the standard!
No one cares
amen to that.........

Go bitch to someone who cares..... this is a game... In real life objects aren't made out of polygons either and we certainly do not have to worry about fps dropping all of a sudden...

If you want reality, go play Americas Army or similar
He is bitchin to people who care last i counted you and one other ignorant ass said you did not . if it bothered you that much you should have stoped reading the thread. These are open forums and because of that we can all see the idiots who come out to play ie: BiRdMaN829 and DocZ.......gotta love self humiliation.

The Gunny is a real USMC Gunny with 3 tours in Afghanistan and I understand your complaints although EA goes back and forth between soldier and Marine in every aspect of the game. Oh well, that's life...

For Horseman 77: It was said in boot camp that "oorah" means kill or death in Turkish. I've never looked to see if it's true, but it works for me.
The actual spelling is "uhruh" and it does mean kill in Turkish.  BTW, that info was provided to me in a book my James Webb (former Marine and Secretary of the Navy) - "Something to Die For"

It's just a game,in BF1942 it was the same issue: Japs using german Kar98s,Russians using Enfield rifles,Krauts with sidearms(in real life only officers were issued a sidearm),etc,etc....

EA just gives a crap about authenticity(I avoid using the word realism, that's a whole other story) and I think your average 14 year old BF2-player doesn't know about all the tiny incorrect details.

Im just another civilian puke shitbird but I care too.I want it done correctly but I guess you can't get everything correct.I tell you what,if I ever make a game that includes Marines,I'll know who to bug :p Anyhow, thanks for everything you're doing and come home safe. I would say Semper Fi but I haven't earned that right so I'll put my hand over my heart.

yeah yeah, I know I'm am an idiot........

It's a source of my pride.......

And here is something constructive to add to this post.....  a couple of bricks and a bucket of cement.......

sorry if I stepped on someones toes, but you must understand that no one can ever get reality right when they are making games... I know, they should do this and that, but they didn't.  And that's about it...

Yeah, but they could at least put a little effort into research. I can understand how it bothers people even if it doesn't have nothin to do with the gameplay. Like, the bomber level in COD:UO was totally ruined for me because the RAF were flying the wrong planes at the wrong time of day.
