I am all about flying low/ using ground cover as a screen and then popping up for targets. especially when there are j-10's and alot of AA on the map.  More pilots need to learn where to aim so that the gunner has a good sight of the target. For gunners, going from gun view (which has a very wide range of sight when you switch to the view that doesn't have the choppers nose in the way) and pointing out targets and then switching to TV mode for the shot is also key. I usually fly low until we get to a hot spot then pop up and start wreaking havoc, making sure to give myself some leeway for manuevers if it gets too hot. then diving back to the ground when going back for repairs.  Flying to high = Jet Bait
VOIP in vehicles would be nice but that's what squads are for, if they did auto voip for multi-person vehicles it would have to take you out of your squad VOIP first other wise the radio traffic would prolly be horendous IMO

Wow just realized how old this thread was so much for my opinion *laugh*

The only point I have is you have to fly erratic, there are SRAW's, TOWS, Tanks, and buggies that can bring you down quite easily if you fly slow and straight.

1. Flying low has its purposes as it has been stated throughout the tread.
2. If your pilot constantly flies low to show off his skill or whatever it may be don't fly with him, simple as that.
3. Why make vehicle specific voip, they already have squads make one, if you only want the chopper crew in it than lock the squad.
4. Pilot/Gunner spot your targets it is very helpfull
5. Although it may not be know to many the pilot does have the same view radius as the gunner, use mouse look (Hold ctrl and move your mouse), along with that and the ability to change views you can see all around you.
6. MOST IMPORTANT: Fly for your gunner

I've gotten that before. The best is when I'm evading two j10s and the havok on Wake and I'll swing the helo around and set up for a beyone perfect tv shot on the havok, and the gunner just sits there. After we've just been blown out of the sky, he tells me I need to learn how to fly and he couldn't shoot because he couldn't see the target.

My flying is like this, I know how to shoot the tv missile. If I have a gunner, I'll stop momentarily for him to shoot. I won't rush it, but give him plenty of time. If he doesn't shoot, he's a noob. Plain and simple.

Tough words for someone who thinks there's a havok on wake.
