Situation:
I just put a new TV card into my computer and moved my soundcard to another PCI slot;
Booted up fine, but now it is only playing as 2.1 (possibly 2.0).

Creative Audio Console detects: 5.1
Windows detects: 5.1
Windows can test all 5 speakers successfully (i can hear sounds through ALL the speakers)

Winamp and Windows Media Player only play it as 2.1. I've looked in the Winamp settings and can't find anything!

edit> For all those who have a G15 and use 'Sir-Real's LCD', it also detects them as 5.1.

Ok, try this.

Open WMP, rightclick the top bar and click tools, then options. Go tot he devices tab and click speakers. Then go properties, advanced. Then on the volume tab, go to to the advanced button closest to the bottom and select 5.1 surround sound.

I dunno, maybe that will work for WMP.

advanced leads me to Windows/Speakers program.

How are your speakers connected?

What sort of 5.1 output are you talking about? What sort of audio mode are you wanting to use, PLII music?

What speakers do you have? Are they connected digitally (either SPDIF coax or optically (it'll be coax on an Audigy 2 ZS, that's what I've got)) or through a 6 channel analog cable?

What are your decoder settings setup as?

And of course - have you plugged all the cables in correctly?

fixed ;/ restored default and then applied 5.1 again and it works :S
