So all my new components finally showed up (fucking YES) and i'm opening packages and I see this briefcase...

So i'm like, SWEET!! Or maybe this is the hookah I just ordered off Ebay.  I mean, if you get the right deal, you can get a case with your hookah.  Anyways.. I take off the clear wrapping and am still curious (It was shipped in it's own box), and I finally opened it to see...

Thats awsome! I would buy that PSU just for the briefcase.

Is it a decent PSU though?

Fuck me. For $350 it must be good. Don't you think you overdid it with a 1000W PSU?

You could have spent less on that and then bought a better mobo/GFX/CPU. No?

Tagan PSUs tend to be pretty damn good. I'm not sure, but I think they came up with the idea of modular PSUs (which aren't technically as good, but are a heck of a lot more practical). Is it 1100W? If so, I'm not suprised it was so expensive.

Also, if it is a 1.1KW PSU, what the hell are you using it to run? Must be a hungry system.

If he's rich enough to have a 1.1KW PSU, he's rich enough to have something(s) that try to kill it.

Nice packaging though, very ....deluxe.

So... what does raid 0 mean? They both work together as if they were one? Or...? And the price for all of that?

So why have you got such a big PSU?

You'd be fine on 750W, unless you plan on serious, serious OCing - in which case 800W would be fine.

Maybe he watns to be overly safe?

The only thing on that rig that is kind of insignificant compared to the rest of the components is the RAM. I would have gone for something much faster.

It just seems sooooooo excessive. Unless of course he's planning on getting some GX2s if/when they come out and running a quad SLI setup - then it'd make perfect sense - otherwise.......?

RAM does seem a bit low end compared to the rest - but that's the RAM I run and it OCs beautifully. The Q6600 is not amazing on FSB OCs, so faster RAM wouldn't be that helpful anyway.

I do plan on OC'ing and I am trying to be safe nad supply adequate power to everything.  If I do plan to quad sli in teh future, i'll at least have the balls for it.

I haven't had a new PC in 4 years.  4 years ago, my PC was top of the line, now that shit is outdated.  Course, anything PC is outdated month or two later.  This PC cost $3500 including tax and shipping.  Most is excessive, but I don't want to not have enough balls to run/power anything in the future if I upgrade.

I've talked to many people about picking parts, and have gotten many good suggestions, so i narrowed it down to the current list.

Just a quick question......if you have 4 GTX's wont you need 8 6 pin PCI power cords?

Edit: Or is quad SLi only going to be available when PCIe2.0 comes out with 300 watt to each slot?

No, you can have quad SLI I believe. Or it is coming out in the near future.
